The wording of the written law would have resulted the same too, if trial in court. No explicit prohibition of picture or photo.
Penal Code 130JB. (1) Whoever— (a) has possession, custody or control of; or (b) provides, displays, distributes or sells, any item associated with any terrorist group or the commission of a terrorist act shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years, or with fine, and shall also be liable to forfeiture of any such item.
(2) In this section— “item” includes publications, visual recordings, flags, banners, emblems, insignia and any other thing displaying symbols associated with a terrorist group, terrorist act or ideology of a terrorist group;
“publications” includes all written, pictorial or printed matter, and everything of a nature similar to written or printed matter, whether or not containing any visible representation, or by its form, shape or in any other manner capable of suggesting words or ideas, or an audio recording and every copy, translation and reproduction
I think I have seen some cars displaying ISIS flags before... (or at least looks like it)

QUOTE(MRaef @ Feb 21 2020, 04:18 PM) The things is, AG canceling the proceedings will only make Malay voters hate PH even more, rule of law or not. In the end, the winners are UMNO and PAS, they don't have to do anything at all this time, just let these PH people destroy themselves. They have Anwar, Mujahid, that Perpaduan Minister, LGE, ex-Edu minister, LGE to contribute to the fall of PH. PH, kerajaan sepenggal it is. Now UMNO and PAS just need to wait patiently for the next GE, they will cruise through the next general election like a breeze. Malays hate LTTE in particular?

QUOTE(imin @ Feb 21 2020, 04:23 PM) Are you sure the only reason they were arrested is because of possession of those photos? AFAIK our police is very impartial and professional when dealing with this kind of cases. Anyway, that's the reason why we want the trial in court. To really determine whether they're really terrorist sympathizer or else. Now this sampah AG just throw the case out. Really really really sampah. do you know of more info than what is being reported in the news? This post has been edited by duHwaN: Feb 21 2020, 04:27 PM

QUOTE(rockstar_ @ Feb 21 2020, 05:21 PM) I remember that melei girl got jailed because she keep some manifesto about isis. Can she sue gov by referencing this case? Or is this one of selective judiciary the law is explicit about possessing publications related to terrorist group. it is silent about a photo of a dead terrorist leader of a defunct terrorist group.
