Hi All,

I have been suffering from migraine and backpain for a long time. And it is making me tired and weak. And because of this, I am unable to work properly. It is difficult for me to sit infront of the computer and to look the screen for hours. If this situation continues, then I will have to resign my job. I know a good income is required to live nowadays. But beyond that I think health is most important. When I searched online, I came to know about chiropractic treatment and there are clinics offering chiropractor services.

I am planning to take a 1 week leave and try chiropractic treatment. But before that I would like to know the opinions about this clinic where I am planning to approach. If anyone had tried their treatment, please do share your opinions about them. How much days of chiropractic treatment are actually required to get this problem treated? Please share your answers here.

Thanks!

It's interesting that you're looking at chiropractic treatment to help cure your migraine, i've never heard of that before but it should help your back pain. Update here if it helps your migraine!

Btw, i hear that sinusitis can also cause bad migraines if you have a sinus problem.

Chiropractic treatment is not a 1 time thing. You'll have to go for a few sessions.
But again, these are passive treatments, effects are usually temporary.

Instead I would recommend trying physiotherapy. A good physiotherapist would give you a bunch of homework(exercise) to do. If they start hooking you up to electrical stimulation machines... Then stay away as the effects are short-lived.

Perhaps your migraine could be due to tight neck & shoulder muscles. So a physiotherapist would recommend some exercises & lifestyle modifications to deal with it.

Also, studies have shown that ANY kind of exercises would be effective for back pain. The key is to "be active". Do you adopt a rather sedentary lifestyle? When was the last time you did some form of exercise?

PM me if you'd like a recommendation for a physiotherapist centre

are you based in KL/Selangor?

Chiropractic adjustment helps with my friend's headache. For me it gives me good night sleep after I had the neck adjustment. It certainly helps with my back pain but I also do some yoga exercises a few times in a week to ease the pain. That helps too.

In Malaysia, adjustment is expensive. The cheapest I found is in Bukit Jalil that is RM75 per adjustment.

And yes like the others have said, you will need to visit a few times to see the effect. It also depends how severe your condition is.

My friend had cupping done for her migraine and helped her. You might want to try that too.

i think first step is to ensure proper posture at your work place. proper chair adjustment to align with your computer and table height.

next step is to try simple stretching exercises for neck n back

third is to ensure you don't sit for more than an hour at a time. must get up and walk around.

of course if you have tried all these basic best practice and it doesn't help, then seek advice from a qualified TCM doctor

not really sure if a chiropractor is the answer... the effects aren't forever and you will have to keep going back to get adjusted. have you considered swimming. heard it's good leh, can take the weight off your back

Chiropractic has helped many cases of migraine and backpain, but not everyone's body will respond the same of course. The adjustment itself addresses the root cause of the problem, which they believe is normally a bone misalignment issue. The reason why someone has to go back a couple of times because it is a process that starts from pain relief to stabilisation to strengthening and then finally maintenance. Alternatively, people take the shortcut and makan painkillers or go massage.

Check out www.kimschiropractic.com in Taman Sea. They've got 5 star ratings on google. Treatment starts from RM110 and they combine chiro and physio treatments for best results.

All the best! biggrin.gif

Wondering if TS went to a chiropractor already? How was it?

Thinking of giving it a shot because I get bad headaches too.

If one of your family members (or relatives or close friends) is a medical doctor, generally you avoid any chiropractor because you heard about it from the medical doctor. Just healthy eating and moderate exercise are enough. Once I visited a chiropractor (CrossFit instructor recommended for injury), the chiropractor forced me to sign up for 10-visit pass, which a medical doctor never sell. Through the whole sessions chiropractic treatment cured nothing, it was just waste of money. So I quit CrossFit and started eating red meat everyday, now I don't have any joint pain/injuries anymore. This is my honest personal experience.

Maybe can watch this video

Can try Chiro Dr Sean Lee from Discover Chiropractic SS2. He uses gonstead method. I am a patient there and my back problem solved after 3 adjustments. Deep and clean popping sound. And he is really knowledgeable. In fact reviews are real good too.
