as long as your washer got build in pump. in most front load, yes got.

in your case, consider put drain into separate hole, eg on the floor. this is to prevent sink dirt backflow to your washing machine. if no choice, then can use your method.

During normal use should be no risk of back flow. When your sink is stuck with grease, and you try to pump it then may flow to unwanted place.

Mine use 3/4inch pvc pipe to drain. No issue so far. No risk of backflow.
