Ahhh revenge is sweet. No VAR to save them this time. Great performance all around, alonso and reece practically flawless in their wingback roles? Giroud really hitting his stride, everyone showed up for 90 minutes and it was a joy to watch frank thoroughly outcoach ole.

We outplayed them, they were toothless and had no answer at all to our pressing and movement.

Chelsea are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a £70m deal to sign Kai Havertz.

Petr Cech will fly to Germany following the conclusion of the Premier League season on Sunday to hold face-to-face talks.

Bayer want £90m but could agree to £70m with add-ons.

Lots of people pointing the finger towards kepa, but I think the only goal you can question him is perhaps the fifth. I'm more pissed with willian, who had alonso pick him out perfectly in the box and unmarked, but took a rubbish touch instead. Then he proceeded to assist keita with a wonderful pass inside towards our own box, which gave him a clear shot at goal. Key turning points in the game and he was involved in the worst way.

Defending awful as usual, but that freekick from arnold never should've stood, kovacic got the ball perfectly, yet mane went down like a sack of potatoes and VAR didn't even bother to check, despite having good reason to. Getting tired of these divers getting decisions against us and VAR being bloody useless at the most crucial times.

After pulisic got his goal, we went through an odd 10 minute spell where we didn't really do anything, and we let liverpool regain control of the game. So many things wrong with the fifth one too, from the freekick which was easily cleared by liverpool, to jorginho deciding he shouldn't rugby tackle near the halfway line, and that cross which was let in so easily.

Big chances missed: mount with an unmarked header via a cross from james, willian with that useless first touch after alonso played him in, and pulisic with that shot which went wide just wide, again reece the provider.

I'm just relieved moyes and west ham did us a favour, though it would've been nice to secure a CL spot with a point. Apart from that, I know kepa's due a replacement, but honestly can't see how he would've affected the scoreline today, apart from maybe the last goal. All the others were practically unsaveable:-

1. Keita's strike off the bar and in.
2.Arnold's freekick into the top corner(should've been ruled out)
3. Wijnaldum smashing it in from 5 yards, schoolboy defending on a corner, yet again.yawn.
4. Firmino'a header from 3 yards.

Only positive was cap's electric cameo I guess. Could've had 2 goals and an assist.

OK that's bad, but rudiger completely failing to track van dijk's run was just as awful. Upon watching various replays of Arnold's freekick, it seems kepa's positioning was atrocious as well, and it wasn't even in the top corner. Having said that, the wall was pretty pathetic and certainly didn't help.

Sigh. Guess I'm worried about a sideways signing if we don't get a world class replacement, only to realise it was the defending which was horrible all along.

I'm ok if players try and fail, just like second half
but I can't stand we fail without trying, and that's what kepa did yesterday  doh.gif

Not sure what else chelsea can do to help him, it's down to a mentality problem it seems. It's like he's terrified of being clattered or something, and that freekick which floated right in front of his face was really something else. I guess the club can't wait for him to magically buck up anymore. Kind of regret us not giving marcin bulka more of a chance, may have saved us a ton of money.

I think his case like morata, once no more confident then gg  doh.gif

This is actually the perfect example. Morata started like a house on fire though. Kepa never really got going, I'll always remember him for his ball playing ability under sarri, which has dissipated into thin air as well. Worth noting that we conceded the third least amount of goals in his one season, with practically the same backline. Quite ridiculous if you think about it.

I still can't shake the fear of realising it's been our awful defending all along, and make whoever we sign look like kepa 2.0,halfway into the new season. Perhaps experience is the way to go, not someone who's head will drop after conceding some setpiece goals sweat.gif

Haha that might be it as well. Darn TV boxes man!always with the long arse delays.

Check out the replay for giroud's goal, great technique to go round the keeper, initially I thought he messed it up!
