That's because selling food as a business in western countries require you to comply with shitloads of health regulations. Those stuff cost a lot which is why they're expensive to operate on a small scale.

Here a lot of hawker and street stall apa pun tak comply. Open tepi jalan and pay your kopi dues and you're off to business.

+1

funny thing is locally even stall tepi jalan also selling nasi lemak price with lauk equivalent to restaurant one

This, bersepah je meal set <£10. Memang lah got super expensive Michelin restaurants, but those places are for people who think if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

In KL also can get meal <rm10, ada je medan selera, warung meleis or chap fan, take rice, 1 piece chicken, 1 vege can be <rm7.

Precisely. Anyone complaining must not be earning local there, the kind that have to convert everything back to RM. Torture la liddat, not holiday anymore. Unless...

Speaking of which, I'm currently in Ireland, visiting my relatives here. 750g of red onion at Tesco here 59c, huge chunk of broccoli 49c, 1L whole milk 75c. Times 4.5 to convert back to RM. So yea, if wanna be cheaper than Msia, you can.

Back to UK :

In Msia, i dunno how to shop RM5.50 enough for 3 meals as complete as that. Starbucks, McD Msia don't give milk, can't use creamer like him.

So yea, if so want to, it can be argued Msia is more poor/expensive than UK, TS friend is water fish.

wait till TS fren go to Switzerland. she think London is expensive? lol

shopping at tesco/asda is like tongue.gif £100 can fill so many stuff in the trolley

can cook like a king if

Waa, that looks nice.

Irish supermarkets bread is ok for European bread eg ciabatta, croissants, baguettes etc, but Gardenia kinda bread, that SG Milk bread looks gooding.

sgd $2.80 per loaf. I think if sell here not so laku due to price tag

but singapore gardenia got plenty type of breads for sale compare to MY

even this one also dem nice

TS friend will die of starvation if go Switzerland lol.

I cannot even imagine how to finish £100 in 1 go if shop normally, and that is for at least 4 people's worth of groceries lol. Even if wanna splurge with lobster, some caviar, still doable!
Yea, for that price, i think people rather buy breads at bread shop eg Lavender, Komugi, The Loaf.

Ah, i remember that Italian variant, so they've stopped, damn shame.
*
that's why lah. if convert really ranting.gif

even the sommerset variants also now need to go to giant, jaya grocer now, I cannot find em on rack at 99 speedmart anymore these days, well at least at the store near my place
