All my previous phone are sub 1k phones so they last 1-1.5 years before become problematic, around August 2017, I change to Samsung A5 2017, around 1599. It still performing good now with occasional lag, but the storage is running out even if I dont have any >100mb games installed. Wondering how often you guys change phone ?

When it's reasonable to upgrade
For example, last time I was using Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, waited until Pocophone F1 came out before I switch. Because my Mi 5s Plus has started to slow down and the battery can only last 1 day Now waiting again for Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro before I upgrade again
And I'm upgrading to Mi 10 Pro because there is an actual need for me Reasons for the upgrade: 1. 30W Wireless Charging - Yes, I need it, my job requires me to have lots of in-office meeting, I just want to put my phone on the wireless charger without worrying about where the fuck did I put the cable. My car also have built-in Qi wireless charger so it's definitely useful for me. This way the USB-C port can also stay tight longer 2. Bigger 4800mAH battery - Yes I need it too because 4000mAH in the Pocophone is no longer enough for my usage, I have lots of conference calls 3. AMOLED screen. IPS screen is good, but I want to go back to AMOLED, last AMOLED phone I had was Galaxy Note 3. AMOLED can also help make the battery last longer, although maybe in a very small percentage

Flashing the prom will fix the problematic issue.
But that means you have to install all apps from scratch, and restore from backups.
"reset" may or may not do the same thing as "flash", depending on what phone you've got.

Use until the phone is either problematic or just too slow for today's app.

I only buy flagship phones like S8+. Every time I buy, I will buy the best of the flagship and use it for 4-5 years.

I think it depends on how you use your phone. Different people use the phones at different intensities. Some phones will therefore die early than the others. I change my phone when I see that it is no longer fit to run properly. I can see it and most often just be able to tell when a phone is tired.

I do not change my phone often, maybe in 5 years or so. It sometimes depends on my phones performance. If it has become slow and keeps misbehaving then replacing it is an aption. What makes me replace my phone is the battery power. When it is too weak I sell the phone to someone who has time to buy a new battery. I do not like changing batteries because they are never as good as the first one.

I have been using my phone for more than 5 years now. It is still strong, the camera is great and the ovrall performance is good. All I have done is change its battery, With a new battery it still works fine to me. I will definetly get a new one but I am still good. Maybe in a year or so.
