A true mech mod will not offer any protection but will hit harder...

If you say so. You can't get any semblance of a mech on a device with a built-in battery. In a few months, after numerous charge/discharge cycles it will show.
Honestly, its a failed product that they're just trying to get rid off cheap in Malaysia.
