TM sent a team to my area today promoting UNIFI, but the staff told me that 50mbps promo (RM99) ended last year.... which means that I can only choose either 30mbps or 100mbps. Did anyone manage to sign up 50mbps package recently?

Your house is landed or highrise? 50Mbps package with upload 20Mbps usually offered by certain tm point and not offered most for existing subscribers, but on early until mid last year that package again they offered to public with come 30Mbps too but upload speed 10Mbps same as 30Mbps package. But they take down 50Mbps package because most users applied for 30Mbps. Only certain subscribers that offered by tm point, they called that staff price package, because on year 2018, everyone together manage to terminate the package at all tm point branches if TM didn't change the price and manage the promise for their subscribers. During that time, everyday all tm point branches very crowded like sardine because unhappy with tm. All existing users that no contract manage terminate, especially streamyx users and half of them successful gertak tm staff to get cheaper price with suitable speed the given. During that year also tm rushing to expand the unifi coverage. They make streamyx users migrate to unifi. I didn't know whose the starter of that terminate war during that year, that make a lesson for tm. If you are existing unifi users, you might get it through tm point but probability either failed or successful, if new applied, just forget it.

They took down the 50Mbps plan because it was less profitable to them.

The difference between 30M and 50M was only RM10. For additional 20M almost double the speed it's actually more worth the money for larger families and those requiring faster downloads.
By removing the 50M plan the next logical package would be RM129 which is 100M. That's almost an extra of RM40 per month.

My house is landed. The whole area currently still stuck with Streamyx, TM came here yesterday to do pre-registration for Unifi which they claimed "will launch next month"

Ya 50mbps definitely more worth. too bad sad.gif

Right now I'm thinking to get 30mbps only. Is it possible to change to 100mbps plan during the 2 years contract? Or I need to wait until contract end first?

for me better pick the best choice for 1 item, if someone using a telephone frequently better pick 100Mbps with RM129 that come with free 600minutes calls every month either mobile number and standard number, but they only charged if call 1-300, they deduct from your 600 minutes. If you applied 30Mbps first then changed to 100/300 and above, first you will get a problem during switching the package, tm need to process like 7 days on standard time frame. Faster updates, they will switch around 3 days. Then you got 2 times pro rate charges, first during your first package and next during second package, so this will make you double cost for you. So, choose wisely.

If more than one person access internet in ur house , better choose 100M plan .
When tm technicians use 2 palm phone install and setup my 30M plan , ask me to do speedtest on my desktop pc wifi connection...
i can only get about 20M speed.
Once tm technicians leave my house , my line immediately back
to 30M speed.
More devices connected to ur internet line will cause speed drop.
In my house, i am the only one to use internet ...that's why
30M plan is enough for me.

DiGi fibre is offering RM99 for 50M symmetrical if I'm not mistaken.

If you are living in Klang Valley, there's chance you can get it, soon they might extend the coverage to HSBB network as well if the wholesale agreement can be made.

Early termination contracts for Celcom, DiGi and Maxis are the best pay one time RM500 they'll let you go.

Thanks for your info. My family rarely use the house phone to call already so the 600 minutes free call doesn't really matters..

Basically I am the only one that use internet at home coz my parents only watch youtube, 30mbps should be sufficient but if 50mbps is available then lagi best.

I just saw your thread lol.

Same here, UNIFI only available around March. In that case maybe there's still a chance to get 50mbps plan, I guess. Thanks for your info!

just make sure you changed the default tm router to any other best router after they installed for you, otherwise the speed might struggle. Everyone will change their default tm router to their own router to get best, stable speed&connection they want. if watch via phone is okay, but if watch through smart tv that will be different because usually will automatically switch for full hd. So, 50Mbps and 100Mbps less struggle for small family normal usage.

I was on 50 Mbps last time, but quickly change to 100 Mbps. 100 Mbps is much more worth of money. u get double the download and upload speed and also got myunifi tv pack basic + extra channel free.
