Rotavirus is usually an illness of childhood. Most babies would have received the oral vaccine and are thus immune as adults. Even unvaccinated adults usually suffer relatively mild symptoms. The key is keeping the affected/afflicted adult away from any young children, especially if the child has not been vaccinated.
