Hi, I want to know is there anyway we can check the car info?

I found this site, but their charges not cheap. It can check the NCD, previous insurer, and reported stolen/total loss

NCD seems irrelevant.

A lot of people buy new 1st hand car but with 55% NCD already, transferred from previous/other cars they owned.

mycarinfo provide records on type of loss (stolen/total loss) for free, thats good already.

else just RM6, not cheap?

NCD can tell whether the car did claim insurance before, right? Match it with the years of register vs the NCD percentage, then can roughly know whether there was accident before. ofcoz provided that he buy it as new 100% before.
let say there's a car 2015 register, NCD 100%, then you know that it just claim insurance. it might not be 100% accurate , but it helps

Well, things is when surveying for used car, you not going to just check 1 ... that will add up the cost quickly.
If it's like the SMS, RM0.50 and RM2, then it make more sense. but I tried the 36600 sms, it's not working.

you need the IC number or company no to do this kind of search.

There is, but only available for insurers, and its paid service.

Care to tell wat car you want to chk, some cars have their full details just by scanning the key or put the key into a reader.

What if the owner claim the insurance and NCD reset to 0% but the following 5 years no accident, so the NCD back to 55%, after that the owner sell the car.

If say getting honda city used, should we call up nearby honda SC, hive number plate and ask ?

Would all the SC have access to that info or only the ones that has serviced the car before 🤔

Wow, thanks for the info, i had no idea..always thought couldn't check....and some second hand dealer show service book been chopped...but was wary if can believe or not.

Now can call and double check !

on top of checking with SC, better to send to a workshop to have it jacked up and check the undercarriage. any major accidents, oil leaks, hidden repairs can be seen from there. be wary of unusually clean undercarriage too.

worn out driver seats, steering rims are indicators of high mileage.

specialised workshop is better... i onced paid 300 for a mechanic to follow me inspect the vehicle... he even brought it back to his workshop to inspect with the equipment at night but salesman not too happy cause gotta work OT

What if later go to SC of any warranty problem, would they be able tk trace that the odometer has been tampered with ?

once after warranty is over, most likely will be tempered... haih, perils of buying from 2nd hand dealer

Is it safe to assume fir car under warranty, they wont temper with milage. Else, would void warranty right ?

In any case these fellas should be held accountable, but i feel they will just turn around and say thats the condition they gt the car in.

haih... all comes with risk... we can only prevent n mitigate... for 2nd hand car... prepare 10-15% of the car ori px on top of buying price for local and 15-40% for imported ones
