i have high hope for re004,for me the re003 gave me the most wow factor in the dry,wet grip not as bad as what people told me,never had aquaplane incident with it, only thing is its wear rate, bumpiness and noise but you can more or less forgive it being a performance tire, the most important aspect of a uhp tire is the feel it give you, otherwise go touring tire

I went to Klang Hin Leong Tyres today.
They have RE004 in stock. For size 205/55/16 the price is RM320.

That is the same price I paid for RE003 4 years ago. And the same price as Yokohama Advan Fleva that I am using.

Been using this RE004 for the pass 2 weeks time after coming from RE003 .

First impression that RE004 feel more quite in term of roadnoise etc , wet performance its slightly improve from RE003 and most important dry performance its still darn good

I'm quite curious how do you guys usually tell if the dry performance is good? Do you push it to the limit to tell which is better, or you can actually tell from normal day to day drive?

Hi, is there any difference in quality between RE004 made in Thailand vs made in Vietnam or made in any other country?

I plan to get it for my car. icon_question.gif

Should not have any substantial differences.

Spec wise, PS4 tread wear rating is 320, RE004 is only 220, so PS4 would last much longer. Then PS4 wet traction rating is AA, RE004 is just A, so theoretically PS4 is better in the wet. Anyway PS4 is one of the best if not the best tire on the wet for UHP so I doubt RE004 can match it judging by how RE003 performs in the wet. RE004 might be able to match PS4 in the dry.

How about the side walls which one is harder? Because from what I know PS4 got the best dry and wet traction but side wall kinda soft?

PS4 is quite firm sidewall actually, noticeably firmer than PS3. Haven't tried RE004, but RE003 is also quite stiff so I'd guess similar or possible RE004 slightly stiffer.

Yeah strange RE004 got no 18 sizes coz RE003 got.
PS4S is not that far ahead PS4 actually and tests showed PS4 easier to drive in the wet. For 18' , Goodyear F1SS is the king, followed by Continental Extreme Contact Sport.

offtopic :
actually 17 and 18" PS4S exists, just that michelin dont bring in to Malaysia
dont know if local tyre shops do parallel import of tyres or not.
