QUOTE(nghoongen @ Oct 10 2020, 01:37 PM) Hey guys what’s the difference between RE004 and PS4? Spec wise, PS4 tread wear rating is 320, RE004 is only 220, so PS4 would last much longer. Then PS4 wet traction rating is AA, RE004 is just A, so theoretically PS4 is better in the wet. Anyway PS4 is one of the best if not the best tire on the wet for UHP so I doubt RE004 can match it judging by how RE003 performs in the wet. RE004 might be able to match PS4 in the dry. QUOTE(nghoongen @ Oct 10 2020, 09:31 PM) How about the side walls which one is harder? Because from what I know PS4 got the best dry and wet traction but side wall kinda soft? PS4 is quite firm sidewall actually, noticeably firmer than PS3. Haven't tried RE004, but RE003 is also quite stiff so I'd guess similar or possible RE004 slightly stiffer.

QUOTE(nghoongen @ Oct 11 2020, 12:55 PM) Yeah it’s kinda shame just like the PS4S no 18” too Guess I’ll just stick back with PS4 with my tyre replacements then Yeah strange RE004 got no 18 sizes coz RE003 got. PS4S is not that far ahead PS4 actually and tests showed PS4 easier to drive in the wet. For 18' , Goodyear F1SS is the king, followed by Continental Extreme Contact Sport.

QUOTE(Jedi @ Nov 22 2020, 10:17 PM) Very diff style of UHP. Not sure if ps3 has solved the chipping issues. Ps3 would do well on rainy weather 140kph no problem Re004 still testing on rain and wet condition Nope, even PS4 still has that chipping issue.

QUOTE(SingTime @ Nov 25 2020, 09:58 AM) Wanted to change my tyre to Continental MC6 because of the good review. Saw somewhere the tread wear is 320? but the shop said that tyre fast botak. He recommended Bridgestone Potenza RE004 instead. What us the tread wear for this? Could not find the info anywhere. RE004 is at 220 TW only, surely will finish even faster! RE003 was same, TW 220 and finish off faster than those others at TW300-320. That shop is talking nonsense la, just trying to promote what he has. 😅

QUOTE(Jedi @ Dec 22 2020, 08:10 AM) Drove on wet pen-KL weekend. Raining all the way Very grippy. No over or understeer. 120kph to 140 kph no issues. Alot of water splash high level if look at mirror to hindview tho. Very satisfied. Now only thing left is its threadwear... Hopefully can last me 30k km + QUOTE(Jedi @ Dec 26 2020, 09:51 PM) Excellent. 20k km later review again Nice, looks lime at least now we have another good option besides PS3/4 for smaller sizes.

QUOTE(Jedi @ Jan 29 2021, 07:07 AM) I havent reach 10k km as it is also covid now so i cannot comment on TW but I think it will be similar to re003 as they are both A rated. My last 003 tyres lasted 40k km. Soke enthusiast 30k km if extreme corner without brakes all time or genting runs weekly Slight correction, A is the wet traction rating for. TW is 220 for both, so should last roughly similar.

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Feb 8 2021, 06:30 PM) Wears out pretty fast. If not because of Covid & MCO, I would say that this tire only last about a year plus, about 25k km. Not worth the price. First & the last time for me with this tyre. QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Feb 9 2021, 08:29 AM) the potenzas also last around the same as TR1 , no? the pilot sports shud last longer compared to this two RE004 has even lower TW rating at only 220! It should finish even faster than TR1. So yeah, you want longer lasting one then get something with TW 300 or above like PS4 or F1S. This post has been edited by 6UE5T: Feb 9 2021, 11:17 AM

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Feb 9 2021, 11:19 AM) U tried before bothr re003 and tr1? planning to get either one of this. Anyway, whats your recommendation for 15inch size? priority on comfort and handling too. too bad primacy is not available for 15 I have tried RE003 but not TR1 cuz never really convinced about Toyo in general aside from just their Extreme category R1R. The tread pattern on the TR1 also really looks odd to me. 15 inch I'd only consider PS3, RE004, or if cheap one I'd want to try Maxxis I-Pro cuz never tried before but seems decent reviews and very good price. Best balance between comfort and handling is still PS3. (Last time was V12E2.) This post has been edited by 6UE5T: Feb 9 2021, 12:20 PM

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Feb 9 2021, 01:22 PM) what are continental alternatives for the potenzas or pilot sport? UC6 ? For the noise is the re003/4 much higher compared to ps3? CPC6 which is not offered here. Maybe try MC6 instead. UC6 is same level as XM2/Primacy. Noise, I am not the right person to ask this cuz I don't care much about tire noise! 😅 PS3 definitely should be more silent though.

QUOTE(TMZ @ Mar 19 2022, 09:21 PM) Time to change tyre, mine 15". With the downpour situation, which is better for aquaplaning/hydroplaning and wet grip between RE004 and Michelin PS3? QUOTE(joshgm_119 @ Mar 22 2022, 03:45 PM) Personal opinion - wet performance - PS3 outperforms RE004 Yes, for aquaplanning resistance, PS3 is the king cuz the water channels are big.
