I found an ad for a decent desktop rig online and is im interested. The seller is nearby so i figure ill just go over and check out the rig myself first. Is there a guideline to follow to prevent from being scammed? Can stress test the rig before i buy it?
This is my first time buying a prebuilt rig ive always used a laptop.

What is the spec and price? Important things is to have the items' receipt. If anything go wrong, you can claim warranty from the shop individually.

Unless u n seller have time to power it up, check specs per CPU-Z, then Prime95 and furmark it for 5 min each AT STOCK FREQUENCY/STOCK VOLTAGE/STOCK EVERYTHING...
nothing much you can do but visually check specs.
Original reciepts are MANDATORY. Else treat as No warranty.
