Hey everyone! I'm using a Pentax Optio SV and about 3 months ago I noticed the camera became sluggish, as in it would take about 5 seconds to start-up instead of the usual 2 seconds and the autofocus would take 2 or 3 seconds to focus and while accessing the menu, it would only respond after a second after pressing the button. Now, the camera will turn on, the lcd functioning as in it shows the info like number of pictures i can take, my iso and resolution settings etc. but the screen wouldn't show any live image, as if a black cloth has been put in front of the lens. I can access the menus and even zoom in and zoom out the lens but the moment I press the shutter button, the camera freezes and I have to take out the battery to reset it. I've brought it to Pentax and tey said it'll cost RM350 to repair it; they said it was the lens barrel itself that was faulty and that the whole barrel had to be changed. Do you guys think that's really the problem or could it just be a corrupted software? And is there any other place that you guys could suggest me to bring it too? Thanks a lot!
