Nothing wrong. Hypermarket is very alive just that Giant cannot compete. Miri here, E-mart and Everwin always full, Bruneians flock these stores because of price.

Because they got beaten by other hypermarket

Tesco doesn't even exist in Sarawak so how to call it the biggest? At least Giant I can believe but here in Miri its being beaten by local hypermarket that you probably never heard if you are from the West side. Last Jan already Everwin open its 4th branch, not far from the last Giant in Miri.

There were 2 Giant in Miri, now left 1 and even that looks like dead hypermaket walking. They been around long before Everwin.

Everwin is fairly new, i think they open first Miri branch in 2016. Then open second in 2018, third in 2019 and now fourth in 2020 which is just a kilometer away from the last Giant. They beat Giant in terms of price and products that caters more to everyday needs. I feel kesian to see Giant dying and have nothing against it but what to do when their competitors does better.
