Source: Ministry of Health Malaysia The Novel Coronavirus is the topic of table talks during the 2020 Chinese New Year dinners. Since then, I have decided to share a bit of information and preventive tips that you can take. The virus has not been confirmed to be airborne however, it is spread through contact of bodily fluids. On top of the facial masks, it is also helpful to take up good hygiene practices such as washing your hands more often or having a hand sanitiser in hand.

QUOTE(xXxJeremyxXx @ Feb 4 2020, 11:43 AM) Hi Guys, I know is a stupid question but im kind of stuck in between to make a decision. Due to the recent corona virus outbreak and I have an upcoming traveling holiday with my wife and 1 yo daughter to JAPAN next month. The best part, my wife is in early pregnancy stage. So should i proceed with the plan or abandonment the trip and of course high chances i don't get back my refund (air ticket & hotels). As i did consult others (friends and family) but answer are 50/50. Maybe any doctor in this thread can advise me? Hi, I found this interview that asked similar question to what you are asking (risk to pregnancy). the professors answered the following; Q: How does the virus affect pregnant women and will it be transmitted to the unborn child?
Prof Wang: It is not known yet.
Prof Gray: Unknown, but pregnant women are often at increased risk of respiratory infections.
Asst Prof Anderson: Currently there is not enough information available to determine if there is maternal transmission to the unborn child.
A pregnant woman may develop more severe disease as they are immunocompromised and are more susceptible to complications of respiratory infections.

(as at 1600hrs The Edge). Hope this information helps you to make a decision.
