@sunauto: your DIY mods look practical. how's the exhaust air coming out from the back feels now with the mod? hotter/cooler exhaust air?

actually, comparing the HSF of 360 vs ps3, the 360 is actually not expelling enough heat via its solution. sounds crazy, but the ps3 exhaust air is actually much hotter than the 360, which is good news means all the heat is not trapped inside.

i place the 360 (horizontal) on a notebook cooler on the floor. the notebook cooler uses USB and will work even when the power brick is on standy (orange). make sure the power and video cords are not blocking any vents behind. make sure the vents on the right side have some space to "suck-in " cool air. i usually off the 360 by downloading some small files of the XBLM and put it in low-power downloading mode. the 360 will auto shut off once the file is completely downloaded

so far, only 3RL once and a couple of system hangs - still can use. manufactured june'06.
