Thought of re asking here instead of ipad section, hoping there will be more response.

Would like to know what other alternative to Apple pencil there is?
If Adonit stylus, where can buy them off from physical shop, and hope i can test to see if the experience is acceptable..

TIA.

What iPad are you using? Pro or the non-Pro lineup?

Definitely. Just like you, Im using an iPP 2017 and the models offered are very limited.

Logitech Crayon is a good alternative according to reviews but doesn't support ours. Meanwhile others have either the crappy disc or require pairing.

Mine's a cheap generic lookalike that costs less than RM40. A little noisy as it uses a metal bearing and doesn't support the major features such as pressure sensitivity but its compatible with both Android and iOS and doesn't require any prior pairing.

If you're mainly using it for simple tasks and basic sketches, this'll do.

Whats the key word, reference for the one u r using?

Noted on the noisy bearing when writing.. i think sometimes the smoothness or roughness of the pencil tip also affect the writing experience.. the feel of writing on actual paper.
If need pressure sensitivity, might as well go for apple pencil already

Ye.

I just typed in generic apple stylus, but you'll find these kind a dime a dozen on Lazada and Shopee.

It can connect lightning dongle as well, battery less and cost a third of Apple.
I buy from Amazon, their website can order as well.

Don’t see the option to connect with lightning port for sonarpen..
But with cabling when drawing, don’t think it is very convenient.
Never consider upgrading? biggrin.gif brows.gif

No, apple pencil is heavier and not as sensitive, there is an adapter included.

I have extra, brand new Logitech Crayon if anoyone is looking, however it only supports 2018 iPad models and above. I think iPad Pro 2017 is not supported.. or you can buy used Apple Pencil, but make sure it is under warranty because Apple Pencil is basically non-repairable

Recently, I was also looking for a replacement of the old stylus. So I made a comparison of the characteristics if anyone needs it, here link. (Info used from Amazon)
I bought a Logitech Crayon and Adonit Pixel.
What can I say from experience with use? Logitech is great for working with documents or the Internet. No extra buttons. The minus for me was the unusual form of the stylus, but I think this is temporary.
Adonit is more intended for drawing.
A plus for me was the ability to assign selected actions to buttons. Minus, I would place the buttons higher, accidentally press them sometimes
