no one can take the money wrongly credited into their account anyway. under malaysia laws, the bank has the rights to reverse the wrongly credit amount, or if the person already withdraw the money, the bank can demand the money to be returned.

because, it is wrongly credited. it is not free money given. wrongly done means it can be rightfully corrected lor.

U go try ask the bank to do that see how far it gets you... especially small sums like 1600

the point is, if you have wrongly transfer the money to a wrong person account, and there is proof that you have no reason to do so, such as purchasing a goods or service, you have your legal rights to settle the dispute by requesting the money to be returned. the person cannot win a court case by stating that you made a mistake and now the money is rightfully his. he can only win if he can shows that it is a rightful exchange. the court will look at the dispute and decide who should get the money, not blindly following a stupid rule such as if you transfer money wrongly, then it is your own problem and too bad you won't get back your money no matter what.

sure, you can link all the legal "standing" as you like, in practice you ask see how many have managed to get the bank to give a damn about your money. As for going to court with rm1600... yeah.. sure..

the point is, as far as laws is concerned, if you wrongly transfer the money to someone, you are legally allowed to claim back that money.

it is not necessarily a pain free process. but if you really really want to do it, up to the point of lodging police report and employ lawyer to initiate a legal suit, the person who receive that money has little chance of actually winning and will be forced to return that money.

that's my point. i never meant that will be an easy process.

Unfortunately the bank will not entertain you until you get a court order.

Even a police report also they will not entertain.

To get a court order.... well...
