One of my favourite shoes has a hole now due to wear and tear.

When I bought the shoes, it fitted fine but somehow my feet got bigger and the front part of my shoes feels tighter and eventually gave way. You can refer to the pic below.

The cobbler told me that he would need to stich a piece of leather inside to the shoe and try to stitch it back but it may cause the shoe to be tighter in which it would be uncomfortable for me.

Is there an alternativ way to preserve this shoe or should I just let it go?
