Hi guys, currently using intel i7-4770k, asrock extreme6 and 4x4GB g.skill ram. Should i upgrade now to 9th gen or wait for 10th gen? Would prefer intel hardware. xD Already have ryzen for work. This is for gaming purposes, PUBG, CS, Ace Combat 7, GTA5, AC: Odyssey etc. All games mentioned already in my steam library. My actual PC specs are in my sig. lol. Would prefer to get more than 16GB ram if i can. lel.

Budget about 2k for those 3 items, enough? lol. Prefer i7 or if i5 is 6core also i dont mind. lel.

Edit: Anyone knows any Intel mobo for 9th gen with dual LAN support? Please let me know. I've tried searching but very limited. Any brand is okay, but preferably, asrock, asus, gigabyte and those brands widely known one. xD haha.. Thanks!

Edit II: Already ordered Intel i7-11700k, Asrock Z590 Taichi and Be Quiet! Deep Rock Pro 4 Air Cooler. Heh. Total was around RM3.7k. Arriving next week. hehe. whee.

Forget about getting Intel at the moment as AMD's Zen 2 basically outperforms Intel in many ways (except gaming, but it's very close), along you can get an upgrade to upcoming Zen 3 CPUs with a BIOS and a CPU swap

More than 16GB RAM will be very expensive (costs about 1/3 of your budget FYI) so I'd avoid spending so much on RAM

If you still insist of getting Intel you are basically sidegrading your PC

Oh man... Why though? xD I would prefer intel for gaming, ryzen for my work. xD Its a ryzen 5 2600. xD I havent really fully tested it on games as its running a 1060 gpu. xD I thought intel would be better for gaming as i play a lot of FPS games. And at the moment i keep getting fps drops with significant amount, my cs usually is 144, but dips to 22 out of nowhere. Only an ALT-Tab would reset it to 144 again. And im playing competitive... lol.

Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7 9700k? Lol.

3700X. Coming from someone who switched from i7-4790K.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master. Not exactly cheap.

Not that expensive if you buy mobo bundled with the cpu. I bought 3700x + x570 aorus master from techview. 2650 bucks . Its in PJ.

If you really want a x570 mobo, all of them also very expensive. If you want R7 3700x and a mobo below 2k , it is possible but it will be a B450 board.

Then u need RAM. I bought Gskill Trident Z RGB 8Gbx2 3600mhz CL18 from Topmaid at 470 bucks per kit. Thats a Samsung B die RAM. I have both Trident Z and Trident Z Neo. Same memory chips on the same PCB.

If you think Aorus Master too expensive but you want an X570 platform at a cost then got 2 options for you. You can opt for the Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus Wifi ( this mobo plenty available at lowyat plaza , Topmaid i think offered me 850 bucks) , but it is using Realtek LAN .

Yeah, more features means more expensive. You can go for Asus TUF X570 Gaming if you want best budget X570. It comes with less features but it can handle 16 core easily. I still don't like Realtek LAN though.

Its okay bro, i can increase to 3k budget. hahaa.. I just want it to be better than my i7-4770k currently, as im seeing some bottlenecking now due to CPU i think. And also I guess its time to upgrade. Using 1080ti now so i cant use cheap board or proc. at least an X570 board for ryzen series or Z series board for intel. lol. Prepared to spend about 2-3k actually. Maybe an additional casing too. Old one is really old. lol. RAM im set for corsair vengeance pro rgb 3200 ram at 700 bucks. plus bundle i might need to fork out a bit more. lol. As in cpu and mobo bundle. xD if its as you said 2.6k, it will be about 3.3k. Still acceptable. xD

Ohh. Alright guys, so using the intel and broadcom would be better? Does this explain why when i download from utorrent my internet disconnects? I think my LAN now is connected to Realtek LAN port, my mobo has 2 ports. Using ASrock Extreme6. lol

Depends on the router

Router using Asus RT-N56U. So far it was performing, but just recently only like this. Last time i downloaded like 20episodes of anime at one go no problem. Now i download a mere 10 the line cuts. And i have to restart my router. I restart the modem actually.

Yeah, Killer LAN is BSOD champion.

Check your router and see if it is extremely hot. Overheat router also disconnects you a lot.

My router currently has a laptop cooling fan under it, so i think its not that hot, but it is actually. Not as hot as mine upstairs, i have 2, 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs. xD

You can opt for Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite also if you need Intel LAN. I think this or the Asus X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi is the bare minimum you should buy for an X570 board. If you want cheaper , buy B450 better . But you have to be aware , cheaper boards dont come with SLI support.

It is recommended to go 3600Mhz on the RAM if you can afford it.

AMD has recommended 3600Mhz CL16 for Ryzen 3000 series. But CL16 for 3600Mhz is damn rare here. Most 3600Mhz kits sold in lowyat plaza are all CL18. You have to OC it manually .

I wont be SLI-ing my desktop, but just buying it for the storage and pcie slots. haha. I would prefer the X series board. But for ram, need to be 3600Mhz? lol. Cause i think kinda over budget already. 3k+ also over budget ad actually. hahaha.. xD
