Earlier on.. I was using an evaluation copy of Vista.. after upgrading to a full version.. I found that my manufacturer's name (at System's Properties) has been changed from Compaq to Dell.. Any ideas why this is so and how to change it back??

You will need to do some modifications with the registry. Refer here. This post has been edited by mystical zero: Jul 17 2007, 03:30 PM

QUOTE(icaruz @ Jul 17 2007, 03:38 PM) Errm... is there another way to do it??? I'm not really good with all the commands... don really have IT background... Don't worry. Since that's the case, we'll guide you through step-by-step. Before doing any modifications, we need to know the existing value data. Do the following: - Go to "Start" and at the search box, type in cmd. Press CTRL+Shift+Enter to launch command prompt as administrator.
- Once the command prompt window is opened, type in the following accordingly, followed by pressing <Enter> after that.
- reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation" /f "*" /d > %userprofile%\Desktop\query.txt & %userprofile%\Desktop\query.txt
- After executing this command, you will be presented with a text file. Copy the contents and paste it here.
