I'm new to investing overseas and I'm planning to buy ETF. I've read a little to realise the following:
1. IBKR is cheapest but need maintainance (or some minimum amt of money which i dont have)
2. TDAmeritrade is fine, but they recently move MY clients to SG, flat $10.65 per trade. Not expensive but not optimized.
3. IBKR whitelabels (tradestation international... etc)


I'm exploring option (3), but I am worried that they might.. go vanish, and in this case my $$ and stocks will be liquidated? I cant find reliable review online. Any help?

if you're worried, just choose (1) and pay the monthly fee.

If you buy and sell RM10k of shares per month in Malaysia, you also pay a min of RM40 in commission. So there's not much difference.

that's true, just slightly annoyed that i'll need to pay for buy & hold strategy.

most SG brokers charge about SGD $25 per trade anyway. That's already more than 10USD.

So, IBKR is definitely better than any MY/SG brokers.

Everything you deal with IBKR. You just deal with white labels during opening account. After that all IBKR. Login/funding/customer service/trading everything IBKR.

please be aware that trade station global need minimum 1000 usd and for margin account is 2000 usd , and real time data need for extra charge for your information ps: just found out when i opened the account

IBKR whitelabel (TradeStation international) got no monthly charges right? If you plan on holding, then might be a better choice.

If you have small amount of money don't need to use IBKR, even with whitelabel each transaction fee is already 2 USD. In terms of trustworthiness, IBKR is not the largest online broker in the US for no reason. Honestly I trust IBKR more than the banking system of this country.

Not to mention that their profit margin is around 60% and they owe nobody (zero debt).

how about if i have usd1000 in the account.. and then use it to buy shares.. the shares will be usd1000 in value.. does that count to enjoy no charges?

TSG= no fractional shares (IBKR).
Trading 212 = can fractional shares. no misc charges

TBH, why not just IBKR itself, the maintenance is only USD120 per year/10$ per month if your portfolio/cash is less than 100k usd.

If you cant make more than USD120 per year, better not trade, but unless of course you are looking at really cheap trades, whitelabels etc are the way.

I use IBKR to purchase VWRA diligently. Recently not coz' using the money elsewhere.

My IBKR under TSG have fractional shares. Don't know how mine appeared and can work.

When you all say whitelabels does it mean tradestation international? The charges is usd1 per trade with minumum of usd10 per month right? I saw fb ads stated it can now trade fractional shares. Not sure if my understanding is correct. Ibkr so many products...

There are so many. Captrader. Zacktrade, tradestation global.
Every whitelabels have different fees.
Majority of us use tradestation global.

USD10/month is for pure IB if you cannot either one of their conditions.
1. Generate USD10/month in trading commission.
2. Have USD100k in cash or stocks parked with pure IB.

Some said cannot. Some said can. For me personally can but I don't do fractional shares as you pay same commission even if you are doing fractional shares.

Ok. So this is minimun usd1.5 per trade but no monthly fees. True also if u buy fractional shares and got to pay usd1.5 minimum may not worth it.
