subpoena will force any company to have no choice but to handover the encrypted data. but still no one can read it. as it is now, even apple itself cannot read it. hence USA government has been pushing technology companies to implement backdoors to their code. or to require all technology companies to ALWAYS acquire encryption keys from centralized controlled government, so that government can always decrypt the encrypted data.
