There comes a point when you appreciate your PC/Mac so much that you do not want to pollute it with pirated softwares. I never had the urge to do so when i was using Windows mostly, not because Windows' pirated software are more available than Mac's but rather because some Windows' softwares don't work as beautifully as Mac softwares. Somehow I feel that Mac softwares are worth every cent.
to each his own.
from my limited experience with OSX, software is not necessarily better on it. (don't flame me, fanboys)
maybe it cos apple has better control over their hardware whereby there are only a limited number of compatible hardware that OSX runs on. so there isnt a need to write 100s and 100s of drivers just to make it run on all machines. and thus this expands to other software programmers too where they only code for one set of hardware.
when the OS is opened to other hardware for example (eg OSX86) thats where the problems set in. incompatible drivers are the main stumbling block for mass installation of OSX.
i may be wrong in my assessment, but i think thats a valid point.
who knows, maybe the closed hardware/software is the way forward in software development. then again, looking forward, wouldnt this lead to a one company dominance of the PC market which we have been told time and again "stifles creativity"?
oh and software piracy is wrong.
