Volvo claimed their S60 T8 can do 0-100 in 4.4s. But independent tests show only 5.1s, so please take these numbers from manufacturer with a grain of salt

Go to 3:21 for the results

edit: how do I YOUTUBE-TAG timstamp???

You right click the video > “Copy video URL at current time”

Edit: sorry misunderstood question. Instead of ?t=201 you put ?start=201

I tried both ?start and ?t

Same results

Can you show an example of timestamped youtube linm that is tagged properly in this forum? I will look at your source

Perfect. Thank you bro

Anyway, I tried to look for S60 0-100kmh test since it was touted to be done in 4.4s by Volvo. I havent seen it reach that by anyone independently. In fact only 1 video shows the test as tagged, and they can only get 5.1s.

My maruah tercabar a bit because my 330i G20 can only do 5.6s - independently tested despite BMW claiming only 5.8s. BMW is known to understate their car performance, which is nice. Volvo's claims of the S60 T8 doing 4.4s when only the BMW G20 M340i can reach that figure says a lot of about this Geely-owned company - that they peddle mistruths

I am so tercabar.

edit: Oh right, since Geely-owned Volvo is overstating their timings, I bet Geely would pressure one of their Malaysian subsidiary to do the same too. 7.1S? That is BMW G20 320i performance, a 2.0 Turbo

Its the same engine...

different engines can have different performance due to different tuning and hardware

320i, 520i, and 330i for example have the same B48 2.0L TC engines, but they churn out different numbers for all sorts of reasons

Obviously 320i owners will claim (and rightly) that their engines are the same as the better performing 330i engine, but we all know they are just jelly console.gif

With that being said, it's possible right to tune the B48 in a 320i to the same level as the 330i? My yesterday's research found that B48 is kinda reliable for a conti

BMW makes it harder for this to happen. Sure, some workshops will tell you that they can get it done, but I would have none of it. If you are doing it for fun then no problem because you are not concerned about reliability

I am sure there are hardware and low-level codes that cannot be modified that differentiate the B48 used by different models

QUOTE(dares @ Jan 17 2020, 05:28 PM)
As for your BMW examples, alot of times they have different output so they can segment the cars into their respective price brackets, without having to implement costly hardware changes.

This is true. This is also called product binning. Intel/AMD and other chip makers do this all the time.

Every price for every customer segment, so they can maximize profit.

For sales people like me, a bebird in pants is more precious than two birds that promise to buy an X1 once they are released in the future; if you get what I mean laugh.gif laugh.gif

anyway, the nex 1 series is FF ok? like the A class. You really want that? btw, what is BMW's equivalent to the A45 AMG? That thing is a monster.4-wheel drive, 500++ Nm. The RM320k Civic type R is a piece of shit compared to the RM350k A45 AMG

No no no I am not a petrol head. I just enjoy the finer things in life. You wont catch me talking about modifying a Honda Civic or a Myvi back into a Daihatsu

Also I am not a fund manager, I am only an insurance agent

Civic type r is now 320k? Wow. Previous one was just 200k.
No wonder a45 everywhere.

If you buy Civic Type R (ketam, the 200k was probably the old circle lights) new when the A45 AMG (real AMG, not AMG line) can be had for RM350k, then you have some serious decision making issues or just a Honda fanboy. Bodoh Honda and their FF setup. It is not about taxes, it is about Honda Malaysia cashing in the clueless ah bengs and upgraded rempits

Look at the UK prices:

40k UK pounds vs RM350k A45 AMG

30k UK pounds vs RM330k Civic Type R

Yea fd2r was just 200k. I guess the usd conversion rate is the reason .

Ketam type r too fanboyish

200k acceptable for this TypeR. But not RM320k. Crazy. I bet it is more than the currency conversion, more like Honda Malaysia making as much moolah as they can on clueless racerboys.

If you have self-respect and RM300k, just get the continental
