Some people are naive. Dont use credit card, no electronic of any sort, no bank accounts. Only document they have is IC.
I went to US close to 20 years ago. If I search google history, it still have the "search terms" that I search for some things from back then.

I strongly believe we have very low privacy and with google, Facebook, insta and what not, our information is out there. For people who dont use credit card, the big brother might know less, but to be honest who dont do online shopping.
If anything, I have been taught to pay as much tax as you can, embrace your life, dont stop earning money because you have to pay taxes. The more tax you pay, means, you earn more money.
Haha, the funny thing is I am still below the threshold so I can apply for the rm30.
The worst thing anyone can have is, no history of any spending(ctos or whatever credit score) or earning(income tax filed), then when it is time they like to buy a car or a house, they realize they need to provide lots of documentation they dont have.
Goverment would see now, I spend just 6.50 for my lunch. hahaha so low class but whatever.

Actually, lots of orang asli got identity theft, so those people can use their name to steal reserve land from state goverment such as Sarawak and Sabah.
