This is basically how those so-called "e-wallets" work anyway. As can be seen, they are actually rather backward.

Install a camera at the counter. Do some automation. You can even rob a wallet holder, before the cashier scans the code. And you also know whatever PIN or pattern used to unlock the phone. Then just find an opportunity to get hold of the phone. Everything in there will be yours, including nude photos......

Another point. From the reddit discussion, it is pretty clear why Malaysia lags behind. A lot of discussions involving Malaysians in Malaysia lack depth and insight, especially concerning non-textbook topics.
