PA to who? Usually if it's a sec to someone very high like minister, they are not ordinary PA. There are special training involved and are usually heads of depts

Many PA handle more things that engineers. Oftentimes, they're the next most familiar with the business. I'm not surprised they're paid that much.

Robert Kuok's PA has been with him for a few decades already. Guess how much she gets paid.

Heck, some of the secretaries in Hong Kong get paid HKD40K per month. Secretaries! That is mid manager level pay right there already.

She's a auntie and have served 3 CEOs before. She know the business better than the CEO especially the contacts. On top of that she even handle private matters of the CEO. She is friend of CEO wife and gets really well rewarded from the wife as well. She sort of spy for the wife but also help the CEO on his "affairs". Sort of like double agent. Any good word from her and your future is bright. 😁

PA is not limited to just helping boss make tea or arrange flights. My ex company CEO PA got some decision making power herself. Help to read emails and summarise to bosses the gist of the emails and see which one really need the bosses attention.

I have a PA, of sorts and she has made my life 10x better. This is why you notice I am here in k/ after some months of absence. I have now delegate all non-sales job to her along with another staff

If a small company like mine can find benefit in a PA, more so can the heads of departments benefit from their own PAs in professional and personal capacity (to some extent)

not surprise with the 7k salary.. i think PA is one of the most important person in the department. they cover your shit while at the same time making all other activity go as planned. more like unsung hero/heroin in the dept.

i changed quite a few jobs already now and one of my first task at new company is to make friend with the department PA/secretary. they make your life easier.. easy to get slots for meeting, easy to kawtim when something went wrong, etc.

Stereotype: if u see those young amoi PA posting syiok sendiri pic on IG, flashy flashy feel proud kind then it's the low ranking type dealing with lame stuffs like copy pasting jobs, set meeting, book rooms, make coffee.

The older one, in bigger companies, serving for top management, low profile, then can assume its the proper ones doing more intelligible stuffs

Why surprised? They are smarter than manager+ have to deal with all the sh*t I’ve gone through day to day. My PA basic salary 6,5K, my HR currently looking for another one for me, as the current can’t handle more things, need a back up. PA is Not a position for strawberry..

There are pro PA out there with com sec qualification.. Really, don't play play.. Their job is not easy

these people are paid for their loyalty.

PAs or drivers would not "jump ship" if treated right and because their job scope usually involved a lot the personal matters; them leaving could be:-

a) dangerous; and
b) seriously inconvenienced.

on the other hand, all other professions are easily replaceable and dispensable.
