Caught: 20ft-long python that devoured a wild boar



SIMPANG RENGGAM: A 20ft-long python was caught after it devoured a wild boar in a palm oil plantation near Kampung Bukit Nyamuk here.

Simpang Renggam Fire and Rescue station senior officer Maznan Muhamad said the department received a distress call at around 4.59pm on Tuesday (Jan 14) about a giant snake in the plantation.

One fire engine with 10 personnel members were deployed to the scene immediately, he added.

“We successfully caught the reptile at the plantation, which is some 500m away from the main road.

“When we caught the python, it had just eaten a wild boar whole, ” Maznan said, adding that the operation ended at around 5.21pm.

He said the snake was then relocated and released to a forest area in Kahang far from any human settlement.
