10 years ago, this would be no problem for me, I mean, naming some national players, local football players good enuf for the football team. But now... I hardly know the players, only a handful of regulars. Perhaps it's my fault, watching too much foreign games.

Keeper : Syamsuri Mustafa (Terengganu)
Reason : Best bet for goalie, dun understand his exclusion from the current team, injured perhaps. Cool head, sometimes frighten me. The current goalie, Azizon Kadir seemed very shaky & intimidated. Usually he's pretty much dependable.

Striker1 : Akmal Rizal (Selangor)
Reason : Whatever ppl say about him, I still consider him one of the best talent our country has right now, even the commentators in ESPN said that he's good. If he can recover fully from his injury, I believe he can regain his form.

Striker2 : Safee Sali (Selangor)
Reason : He's got the body, very well-built this guy. & he's got the speed. Also bogged down by injury, just give him more time la.

Midfield : The biggest prob in the team. The current crop of midfielders, Shukor Adan, Hardi Jaafar, Eddy Helmy are not creative enuf. They lose the ball too easily & there's very little chemistry between them & the frontline, which is very puzzling.

Defenders : Another weak dept in the team. I'm pretty surprised to see Khaironissam, Rosdi Talib & Norhafiz Zamani Misbah struggling in the games. As one of the commentators said, they seemed scared, intimidated & lacked confidence. Maybe only Nanthakumar played well, the marking was nowhere to be found. Our defence, most of the time, was almost non-existant.

Striker: Akmal Rizal (exp, body), Indra Putra (height), Khalid Jamlus (sharpshooter but lack of dicipline)
Mid: Well...biggest problem in our team. My choice only Eddy Helmi and Hardi Jaafar. Got 1 Kedah player. Dunno his name.
Defend: Dunno. Really dunno. But got 1 or 2 players from Police, Sabah and Sarawak. Dunno their names.

Where is Akmal's friends at france or germany last time? All gone ah.

I openly admit, due to my location & the length of time I had been staying here, my mind is only of the old people who are either retire, became coaches or just not valid anymore for today's game against every single good teams around the world. I agree that TS should be giving his own input to the discussion, but if there are non to give & since no one is there to create such a thread to bring together what's in everyone's minds, I guess this can be one of those exception - unless a Moderator sees it otherwise, I have no problem if they delete this

GK- Helmi eliza elias- the kedah goalkeeper has been brilliant through out the season. his heroic display ensure kedah win the fa cup. simply the best keeper in malaysia at the moment. his reflect and one on one is unbelieveable good.

defend- It is the weakest link in malaysia team. i do prefer victor andrag from kedah to partner s subramaniam(perak) or zafuan(N9) at the centre defend. victor is as cool as ice and very solid. his physical is quet good for a centre back. subra n zakuan is a young prospect that have agreat potential.

fullback- shafizan hashim as left back coz he is very energetic, and self motivated, always get the crowd going with his crunching tackle and quiet fast as well. he is very2 solid at the left. i wonder why norizan didnt pick him. and the right back shuld be thiru as i cant of think anyone else. he is good at goiing forward. can improve his defending. his jersey after the game will be the kotor skali as he love to do sliding tackle. hehe

midfield- khairil muhaimeen and k soley on the flank. hardi and ahmad fauzi shaari. meen and soley will provide something diffeent to malaysian team as both of them can hold the ball and get past people easily. both played for kedah, and they have shown it AGAINST the current ntional team fullbACK suh as rosdie talib, fauzie nan and other fullback in super league. hardi is the playmaker i think and fauzi will provide somegthing new to malaysia team as his stamina and work rate is quiet unbelievable. this fella will run every inch of the field and will never stop running, but he never look tired at all. he did make it to norizan skuad for asia cup, but never getn the chance to play.

striker- akmal for his expirience, turning and finishing. indra for his speed. and zakuan (one of the best striker in asia under 20) also will provide sumting extra.

coach- foreign coach will be gud enuf as long as FAM dunt interfere with his job.

Errr... new players no names come to mind....

Still basking in the days of R. Aramugam, Santokh Singh, Soh Chin Aun, Jamal Nasir, Shukor Salleh, Wong Hung Nung, James Wong, Hassan Sani, Redwan Abdullah, Isa Bakar, Ali Bakar, Mokhtar Dahari...

We qualified for Olympics before! Today, I think they cant even qualify for Sea Games if they allow only 5 teams to fight it out.... Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia (in that order?). Just watch Korat Games... we wont make it to the last 4....

How about the MyTeam players? There was one midfield who was really good, but I forgot his name...

of r.arumugam or peter rajah as a keeper,
soh chin aun, santokh singh, mokhtar dahari, isa bakar, jamal nasir, shukor salleh, hassan sani, saharudin abdullah, abdul ghani minhat....... just to name a few.
sorry but even thou am in my 20s, i can't remember if there is any good 'still playing' malaysian footballer.
indra putra mahyuddin maybe...

but heck, i'd prefer not to choose any, cuz malaysia player mostly 'senang runding' mah...... 'kopi o' sikit kowtim

I think the must defender is Nanthakumar though he did make a mistake during the uzbek game he actually played better than the others

Azlan Ismail also not a bad consideration only if he have full fitness...

Midfield i think Wirat Nom aka Danial Fadzly deserve a call up for Malaysia squad. Safiq Rahim from Olympic squad and Bunyamin Omar from Kedah.

Kedah gk at the moment the best keeper beside syamsuri mustapha. not to forget Nasril Nourdin (Perak GK)..

For me the best player for CB are Nanthakumar (Perak) and A.Victor (Kedah). a.victor is a solid defender and good at interception... I must say he is better than khairolnisam dan nurhafiz zamani misbah.

thiru i cant say anything, he's the best RB we have rite now and Azlan Zainal as well. he got a good pass and good long throw although he lack of speed. LB, where go Chan Win Hong? And that Perlis LB..

i think actually we got a few good defender but i dont know why that Pahang player always get the position

Midfield also we got few experience player who still can play at high speed like Ahmad Shahrul Azhar, Idris Karim, Rizal Zamberi Yahya and more. They can still give impact to the game.. they still can play 90minutes even they over 30 already. Shukor Adan (Known as most creative midfielder in Msia ).. why he still play??

Although we dont have a good striker, but theres some who are good actually.. khalid jamlus, azlan ismail, indraputra.

for the coach, i think if we want use local coach better select azrai khor...that kedah coach....very good at managing team and train young player...

remember claude le roy?? he proof us that a good coach only cannot by himself changing the squad.. heh
