Fuh JAKIM is now higher rank than the National Registration Department. Hebat betul.

Besides that, if one is to embrace Islam, one should be proud of it and proceed with the change of name to include Abdullah or something and these converts should be proud of their new found faith I don't see the point of maintaining the old name unless ... it was meant to conceal it e.g. from a spouse etc. If there are valid reasons for such thing maintaining the old name, I would like to hear it. As it is, all I can see is future problems for society in general if the National Registration Department were to follow this instruction.
