Hi,
I am doing some test on connecting Maxis USB 3G dongle through Linux, Ubuntu. I wish to enabled dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 for Internet browsing. I have successfully enabled IPv4 internet connection using 3G USB dongle (huawei E372). This USB dongle allowed Dual stack User send one PDP request “IPv4v6”. I have configured it and enabled it with AT command
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IPV4V6","unet"
IPv4 works fine with NetworkManager and ModemManager configuration with below connection setup:
nmcli con add con-name maxis ifname cdc-wdm0 type gsm apn unet user maxis password wap ipv4.method auto ipv6.method auto
It is capable to receive IPv4 and IPv6.
For IPv6, I managed to receive dhcp6 info.
| address: 2001:d08:2000:e43a:5c01:47f6:5a99:d539
| prefix: 64
| gateway: 2001:d08:2000:e43a:dc49:7c16:b6e2:e85b
| dns: 2001:d08:10:201::10, 2001:d08:11:201::10
| mtu: 1500
But I found that I only received IPv6 detail. The gateway is not reachable using the same bearer as IPv4.
I wish to know whether malaysia telco blocking or my setup issue?
Is there any public info reference on how to use linux Networkmanager and Modem manager to enabled IPv6 using Malaysia mobile provide sim through USB dongle? I can't find any info related this for Malaysia mobile provider.
Hope you all could share this info if any.
Cheers
Regards
