Thanks for the link MUM. Yup, i've read up on those, but i didn't quote get some detailed answers from them i.e. where exactly to apply, the process, price etc. And nobody has really brought up the sale of native brews, which seem to me to be a grey area haha. Would be great to get some updated info as well in a fresh thread. Thanks all the same!
on one of the thread in the link posted by MUM, there is a forummer mentioningby forummer Mac Man @ LYF

Malaysian law requires alcohol retailers to be licensed to sell draught alcohol or serve any alcohol at all, though a license is not required to sell canned or bottled beer. Many cafes do not maintain a license, opting to provide a bottle opener so that the bottled beer they sell can be consumed on-premises. The provision of the bottle opener is technically illegal because the license is required to serve beer at the establishment. Establishments caught ignoring the law are assessed a fine.
Unlicensed liquor sales are illegal under Malaysia's 1976 Excise Act (Section 32[1] and 33[1]), but it's still common. Almost all "samsu," a potent spirit that's distilled locally, is sold illegally, either at unlicensed corner stores or from individuals who sell it from their homes. The act also requires that the license must specify in writing the precise address where the bearer is allowed to retail the alcohol.
there is also a questions of how do you ensure/control that you do not sell to Muslim and those underage?Unlicensed liquor sales are illegal under Malaysia's 1976 Excise Act (Section 32[1] and 33[1]), but it's still common. does e commerce platform like Shopee or lazada has T&C that prohibits these items?
if you want , I think you will have to sell on your own website....
I googled and saw quite a lot of websites selling bottled and canned alcohol products in Malaysia.
just wondering how do they ensure/control that they do not sell to Muslim and those underage?
