There are 2 groups of msians working in SG.......

1st group - those who are there as banglas........you do menial labour and get paid a singaporean bangla wage, but go back to JB and kaya raya......RM 6k to 9k sebulan. Some of them can still hold on to their jobs only if those jobs are not automated. Singaporeans do not want to do bangla jobs unless they do not have a choice - the aged, the ones without any skills.


2nd group - those who are there as executives i.e. "expat". These people compete with the best in the world and if they are hired, it's because they have skills that the company needs. No matter how the government changes the rules, these people will be least affected as long as they are still valued in the firm. People like this would include, lawyers, experienced engineers, senior management of companies - SM's/directors and above, management consultants, senior bankers, senior professional service providers. This group of people is very mobile, they can find themselves working in HK, in Australia, in Europe or North America when the opportunity is given.
