Used to play a few such as Tales of Pirates/Pirate King Online a few others in during my uni days.

Not anymore, tho. Due to time constraints and working life, I just settle the the good ol' fashioned shooter and action games and play them on some days when I'm free.

got the taiwan ver.
its fine to play sometime, but ultimately the way how they operate the game is seriously... bad.
it is a good game ruined by bussiness decisions.
still waiting for someone to fullfil my costume set order =(
maybe after get it will have slight motivation to play...

im before play blade and soul, and now currently play black desert.
i love blade and soul, but looking for party for high lvl dungeon is hard.
also im play taiwan server, and too hassle to update english patch every week after game update.
now i play black desert. this game too consuming money. even thought u need to buy the game, u still need to pay more after buy the game especially for value pack, weight, inventory bla bla bla.
but im still playing since didnt have any decent game to play.

The good old days when the MMORPG market wasn't saturated with cookie cutters! Now it is basically copy paste.

Didn't play any of it for about 10 years.

Last 2 decade in year 2000-2010 people are still playing games like
>Ragnarok
>ROL
>WOW
>Maplestory
>Cabal Online
>Perfect World
>Mo Xiang
>108 Online

and other grinding games.

By 2010 online games has evolve into very simple games, where you start by not need to grind and given a lot of head start to play the games.

So it's 2020 now, what's the new stuff? And what MMORPG are you still playing?

I'm looking to play some nice MMORPG but don't know where to start.. Any good game to recommend?

Those you mentioned were not even the 1st wave. Helbreath, Dragon Raja. smile.gif
In US, I think it was something like EverQuest.

The 2nd wave were Priston Tale, ROSE Online, and some of those you mentioned.

mmorpg quality are like shit these days, better drop the rpg wording all together. Stop shaming the rpg genra with shit quality games...

in any case, mmoArpg is getting more attention last few yeard, with Korean dev jumping onto it. Upcoming titles like Lineage Eternal, Lost Ark, some previoisly failed or not doing so well titles like MU2, Devillian... I dunno if Wolcen is online or not, if yes then it will quite similar to Path of Exile, while games like that is not exctly mmo, the economy portion is still similar.

why is it so hard for us to just get some good quality innovative mmo... ideas are all around... every freaking devs and publisher just want to play it safe, even titles that supposedly promise innovative stuff ended up got cancelled cuz they dont want to take the risk, whatever that anime mmo from Nexon i forgot name .

company just copy pasta and milk as much as they can. those shitty phone games are even make me want to vomit more...

MMOARPG is the sub-genre of it. Monster Hunter and the likes are in the leading pack. There is one that copy paste it but f2p or something, Dauntless. MH is the 1st tier of MMOARPG and FFXIV is the 1st tier of MMOPRG. Heck, some even considered FFXIV as actiony.

Cause people do not like grinding anymore and most games are p2w, where's the fun?

Another way of those games can keep players coming back and maintain the game is through trade system where gamer can trade freely. But nowadays the games very restrictive on tradings which kill the fun of it.
