I paid a booking fee for an axia during the 2019 Nov promotions. The dealer said it will be fast and within 2019. I kept asking the dealer when is my car coming and gave me reason that production factory is slow. So I asked him if my car comes out in 2020, is it still the 2019 one, which he said yes. I wanted the 2019 car as long as I get the discount. The whole point why I purchased the car to begin with. Now it's Jan 2020 and he's telling I will be getting the 2020 model but not entitled to the discount. which pisses me off, coz it's not my fault that there is a delay and it's their responsibility to get the car out by then. i paid the booking fee and signed the bank loan agreement , so shouldnt the price be locked down with the discount. mad.gif

Need inputs on this. not sure how to go about this.

Sounds like the dealer has obligation to honor what he offered, as you accept the offer, with booking fee paid.

yes, they should but they should be based on stock availability. which they said ran out, but they like the damn final week of the year. so even if they gave me a 2020 model, i still should be given the discount of the booking fee

If his offer was conditioned with "stock availability", then he wins. You can only cancel the deal and get back the booking fee at best.

If not, then he shall honor the discount.

But, salesmen always smart, so more likely the 1st case.

TS, for your case
the SA not honest

but his scenario is correct
i'm not sure is every brand is the same or not.
but the rebate/promotion is based on the car register date
u take the car on feb 2020, then the promotion based on that month

signed loan or pay booking fees just lock your car priority not for promotion or price

Yes, back in 2017 I was buying an Exora for my wife, that time Proton was clearing Exora Turbo Premium stocks with lots of discount and freebies. So I paid the fee to book the car and proceed to bank loan, then the SA kept saying the car is coming so I wait and wait until after 1 month plus the car finally arrive. But then the SA told me that was the new Executive Plus model instead of Premium, so all the previously promised discount, free maintenance services, etc. were not valid anymore. So not only I can't enjoy those discount and free maintenance service, some more I need to pay extra for the new model (because the Premium model is priced lower than the Executive Plus due to the discount). I wasn't happy then but my wife was in need for the car (because she trade in her old car already) so I still accepted the car.

He said Premium got stock, so I buy from him. But only when car arrived he said Premium no more stock, only have the Executive Plus.
I rugi the 4 airbags (Premium 6 vs Exec+ 2), 3 years free maintenance service, and have to pay extra a few hundreds ringgit; gain some aesthetic and nvh refinement on the Exec+.
I blacklist that SA straight away.

That's what we did. We enjoyed taking the 7-seater out for family trip for the past two and a half years. thumbup.gif
The only problem with this 2017 Exora Exec+ is that it doesn't have any 12V power outlet or USB charger port at the front. There is only one 12V power socket at the boot area. The USB port at central console is only for media playback and cannot be used to charge devices. Don't know which genius design... confused.gif doh.gif

I booked Axia on Christmas day and bank loan was approved less than a week. The car was registered ngam ngam on 31 December 2019. At least the Sales Agent was honest and mentioned to me that only solid white was available. He also mentioned that if he could not register the car in 2019, he would give 2020 car but without discount. I am ok with that and I got lucky.

Take back the booking fee lah... even if you in need of the car, go another dealer and buy from different salesperson. Don't let the cheating dealer earn your $$$
P2 so many dealership and sales person.

Deal direct with the bank officer regarding the loan. If you getting another Axia shouldn't be a problem to transfer it... after all loan is under your name.
Or just cancel the loan also lah.

Your P2 dealer is one of the main dealership or those small time dealership? This also makes a difference in how fast they can get stock for you.

By all means go lodge complaint at KPDNHEP and fight with them..

These tactics already been used for many years but not many ppl complaint until authority really take stern actions to prohibits such tactics

Otherwise just take back booking fee and walk.

All these SA from hot selling brands such as P1/2, Honda and Toyota dgaf about their clients. I was recently trying to buy a car from Honda by using oversea documents, 99% of all the SA were either straight telling me eff off or only 70% loan. Few others told me to get a guarantor. I have no problem buying a property using the same documents lol.

Their sales are just too good up to the point they don’t lose a single thing by losing any 1 of us buying from them.

Well, this is not something new. It's all about the fine print. Even buying things like house, there are these fine print. If you don't ask or read it properly you kena. In a way, they didn't cheat you cause you can always take your money back and buy other car or from another SA.

Well, if you really want to revenge the salesman...take back the money then straight away book again from another sales man in the same company in front of him. LOL...just kidding..don't be so mean....
