Hi,
I was a /ktard here many years ago until I had to leave. In my time I have my share of fun and heartache. I have quarreled and sparred with some of you until I spent too much time and energy, sacrificing my studies and work. Thus I left what I think of as a snake filled cesspit that is /k, full of spite, hatred and dishonesty. The comments and names thrown around were childish at best. Perhaps its my fault, perhaps not. Mebbe I was just young and immature, like many of you.
I had the privilege to undergo an engineering internship with Mr. Aaron Ong at his company during my uni time, so I know him personally. To sum up I had the best internship in the country. During my internship, I run many engineering projects worth > RM140,000. Even as an intern I had sole responsibility of the projects. My boss trusted me. I also did sales and marketing as part of my internship training. AFAIK, no one else will give you this kind of experience I had. My uni mates were doing the typical filing and office boy type work in their respective internships even though they get paid higher allowance then me.
Thanks to my achievements I had during my internship, today I am the senior engineer, working in construction. I face high pressure and tight deadlines. The internship I underwent helped me to face the strong challenges in the industry.
After the story broke out I called and met my former boss for a drink. I haven’t met him for a few years. He's a nice gentleman if a bit strict. So we chatted about old times and he asked me to publish this email he later sent to me.
Dear Forummers,
The end of 2019 marks my 10th year in this forum. Over the years I have spoken my mind, commenting, advising and criticizing where is necessary, always without malice in my heart.
The fallout from the exposē was immediate, positive and encouraging.
Employment
I suddenly had a spike in employment applications to my email and its still continuing as I write. Actually I have too many. For those who apply, regret to say we do not employ jobhoppers and fresh graduates but we prefer those with experience and tangible achievements. I care not that you are an Oxford grad (no offense). Examples of tangible achievements:
- Achieved RM 800,000 sales for year 2019, 20% over target.
- Designed, planned, executed and completed RM 600,000 project on and under a budget of RM 480,000, netting profit of RM120000, above target of RM 100,000.
- As Purchaser, I cut costs by 5%, saving the company RM 40,000 in FY 2018.
Business Inquiries
In addition, through here, I received inquiries for my engineering products and services over the phone.
If I play this correctly, this will be worth quite a tidy sum. In gratitude for the help the forummers have given me, a 2% introducer’s fee awaits the person responsible for the introduction.
All business inquiries are welcome. You know where to contact me.
My 2020 New Year’s resolution is to devote more time to my health, family and business, and I will have no more time for engaging in social media in any platform on private and non-business concerns for the foreseeable future.
Therefore I will have to retire from this forum. Its about time. My wife's been nagging me for a long time.
Thank you for the free publicity and Happy new year and Happy Chinese New Year!!
Sincerely,
AARON ONG.
I'm outta here /k!!
