actually alot of people has misconception on this BR thing that it affects max stat growth substantially.
To be honest from my experience, BR growth is pretty linear with the stats and the progress of the game.
I have experimented that with different BR end of the game would more or less yield the same stats for all the characters. Maybe with a 5% offset which is not much of a concern. Weather u grind at every quest or only grind at ancient ruins for the so called "maximum growth" is the same.
The game actually progresses in such a way that no matter what, when you are just strong enough the BR will just grow to the point that retards your growth, there is no way to prevent this but only a way of delaying, which by all means it just ends up the same and psychologically people actually think it does matter.
What matters is what monster you are fighting at your BR rate and linking it or not. Linking it does increase your BR, but only on assumptions that you are too strong for the monster, and that means you get little exp.
The theory is, your BR is linear with your stats growth. No matter how you avoid it, it will grow at the amount of your stats gain. Some ppl complain aiyoo my BR too high,no stats gain, my BR too high my hp so low, i wanna restart lah etc bullsht. The game is very simple, at disk 1 get around 60-65BR(i beat disk 1 with all the quest at BR58 only) then you are able to beat every boss and quest in disk one already.
Oh, forgot to mention, character selection in union is very important too. If you plan to get max skills put your leader on as soon as possible. For eg, caedmon with max stats is literally god already if u can buy him at 19k as early as possible and train him.His final does 15k damage alone.
