Thats the problem with him. Nobody knew what he did or what he was doing even if he did anything.

When u do something, ppl need to know. If not, its the same as not doing.

Hm. Media played a big role in hyping up the wrong things about him. I remember the first thing people say about the black shoes is how shoe sellers are going to survive with those unsold white shoes. Rather than proactively trying to solve the problem, they chose to smear his name right away. It’s downhill from there.

That actually valid if u in seller's shoes pun intended. They still need to sell that shoes.

And that is problem with this edu minister. Its good he leap into action. But he never seem to sit down and think of the consequences no matter how small. Just like jawi, straight off making it compulsory and then back track to optional after backlash. Like even if u think jawi is just khat for artistic only, a lot of non will view it with suspicioan especially after the whole medan dakwah on borneo incident. And that's another thing, maszlee seem more interested in shoving Islam into things than issue that PH has promised to resolve like the long standing UEC. I don't like mandarin btw even though cina. But if u promise something, handle that one first than jumping into stupid ones.

Hence the reason I said the shoe issue can be handled better.

I’ll chalk that down to inexperience.

I’d say the Jawi thing, once made compulsory with those 3 pages, stick to your gun.

The medan dakwah thing was really taken out of context. I know him personally, Maszlee. The way he meant dakwah is convincing people to do the right thing, not in religious context. Still, he said it and people misinterpreted it. Hindsight is 20/20 after all.

The UEC thing, they should’ve gone for middle ground. Just say UEC will be recognised but the applicant will need to pass certain qualifications from SPM or STPM as well. That way the promise won’t be broken and will appease the majority as well.

Sorry but pretty sure that's what he meant on medan dakwah. Semenanjung has trying very hard to convert borneo and there has been effect. Talk to the non there and they will all agree. So maszlee with that statement is not surprising.  He can twist and turn how dakwah is interpreted but pretty sure that was intention in first place. If no religion agenda shouldn't even mention Islam in first place.

And no to the compulsory jawi. I meant he should discuss with stakeholders first before intro it.

Up to you what you want to speculate. Pretty sure is not the same as sure sure, but some prefer to escalate rather than de-escalate. Secession rather than union. A round of Ops Lalang should suffice.

Again, he should just go through with the 3 pages. Dong Zong can bark all they want but at the end of the day, that’s all they can do: bark. Stripping of citizenship is still on the card if push comes to shove.

Awwww.... U threaten to strip citizenship if we don't follow the majority..... How cute. If u want to stop speculation, first stop by making threats like that..... or jihad or challenge ketuanan.

No, it’s just a thing that can be done and have been done.

I’m a pragmatist. People can live believing that they can defy the majority and their voices are the ones that matter the most, but at the end of the day, the sky can come crashing down on them anytime.

So opposing smartly is better than the alternative.
