Hi Epie, OpusAM is licensed under Securities Commission Malaysia and we have been incorporate for more than 14 years. You may not heard about OpusAM before because earlier we only have license to launch wholesale fund and private mandate, so our clients mainly are insurance companies and institution. We have decided to get a Unit Trust license in year 2018 and here we are to provide our service to the retail market.

Your money will be safe as OpusAM is only a Fund Manager to all the unit trust funds and wholesales funds, the money is safeguard by Trustee and you can check out more information about the funds before you start invest by downloading the prospectus and fact sheet in our website. For example, Opus IPF is with Maybank Trustee and Opus SIPF is with Standard Charted Bank Trustee.

Glad to help!  rclxm9.gif

Unit Trust is just a vehicle of investment, as it is a pool of fund to invest into market and achieve common investment objective. Unit Trust can be Bond Fund (like Opus IPF, SIPF), Money Market Fund (like Opus MPF), balanced fund and equity fund. Most of the fund do not provide capital guaranteed as it is an investment and it will have risk. So I just dont want you to get misconception of "safe" as there will be no loss. Bond Fund and Money Market Fund are generally lower risk investment, so it is suitable for all people be it you are aggressive investors or conservative.

My "safe" definition earlier was explaining about the fund itself doesn't own by Fund Managers but govern and monitor by Trustee. That's how Unit Trust works.

yup bro...I understand about the risk to the investment itself as I also involved in the equity and futures trading
ur second point is what I looking for
really appreciate it

It might drop fpr some time now as economics are bad with so much business affected by covid-19
My advise is save from more losses and buy when it is going up again
Else u might need to keep till u able to see the rise again but still u cant see the money if u dont redeem

Tnanks for ur opinion bro

Wise ppl will only sell when it is not yet reach the bottom and reinvest again when it is start to move up

What he is doing is right, even myself has been buying and selling these few days to avoid myself from missing the chance from buying at lowest point

Those who keep it without buy or sell will need to wait till it back to the same level of buying then only can redeem to avoid loss but who is gonna redeem when it is going up, end up only those who redeem when it start to drop and buy when start to rise will get the profit

no problem for all the comments...this is a forum so i am open to all kinda opinions
personally for me...i also invested in stock exchange and futures
so i assume opus is one of my low risk investment
i am aware of the risk...so i need to cut loss for the time being

yes 1k++ loss come from opus alone
futures market is very volatile right now and stock exchange is bleeding so bad....so loss is everywhere
need to take a break

good luck for all investors
nobody know for sure where the market is heading, we can only guess

Bond down by 1% --> cut loss
Stock down by 30-50% --> still holding

Normally people allocate their fund according to the risk involve
Maybe huge amount in low risk investment and small amount in high risk investment such as stock market/futures

because you know the true value in stock market (if you really study and do research on the company).

in this, whoever who dump in the money doesn't even know what they are buying.

Maybe some of us learn from the experience from 1997 crisis
