I think, the worst part about squatting, is exactly at the parallel point. So maybe, if you just wanna get your squat to count, then parallel is just enough. And explode off the hole. That's what they always say.
Or you could try bands......though I can't get them now la, have to wait till US there got breaks, then can ask frens to bring thru.

Is it normal to round my lower back when doing squats? Happen only at rock bottom. I suspect it is my flexibility. Need advice from you guys.

No, not normal... weak core. Do more deadlifts and hyperextensions.

Btw, snatching is a b**** keep your lower back arch ALL THE TIME during squat. If you cannot go rock bottom without rounding your lower back, then just go as low as possible. Never compromise the lower back arch for the depth of squat. I learnt it the hard way, where I have spraint my lower back for 2 time during Rippletoe, and have to take 1-2 week rest.

nickwh. the best is put a video of your squats. i wana what kind of squats u r doing. if u r doing power squats(wider stance) u cants go ATG, max below parallel like me only. u wana go ATG is only olympic squats. put a video and we'll review it. dont do wrong stuff in the gym. might end up pretty bad

Hmm... I train alone so I can't get a vid of me squatting. I'll figure this out later. I squat slightly wider than my shoulder width.How wide is olympic squat?
I think I'll be limiting the depth of my squat until I get the flexibility and a better core.
On the lighter hand, has anybody tried Janda sit ups? It hits the abs real nice and hard.

finally back at the gym after a months break.. i'm sore all over... strength hasn't decreased much.. but i hate to re-condition myself all over again and climb back to my maxes.. zzzzzzzzzz... getting a lil bored with the current few exercises..

Oh yeah, carl, as you requested......I'm posting my training journal and updating it quite frequently from now onwards. I've got to have a medium to record this because this program needs tweaking and tuning.
Don't bother searching up the routine name, it's like a hybrid between madcow+westside+oly lifting+the russians.....something I've learnt from all the routines put together. Also, has quite a bit of cardio to build up heart strength.

Jib pulled 440LBS and broke 460LBS off the floor but couldn't lock out. Congrats
And Shane did 350LBS but had a lil grip issues.
I pulled 420LBS (strapped and chalked) and then suffered a backache. Hehe..Gonna attempt 420LBS again in 2 weeks Saturday.
