I thought Digital Marketing is very huge, and has a lot of sub-branches (Social Media Marketing, Graphic Designing, etcetc), not necessarily just designing?

Not sure, but I'm interested in this field, and I don't have any real experience working in a corporate environment, but I would like to know what are the requirements

to land a job like this.

If you're serious, you need to have good analytical skills as a campaign manager.

Go take google and fb cert. They have self study course.

Then you probably can get a job easier. So many start ups nowadays, many need some form of digital marketing.

i don't mind not doing the real shit, honestly, pay is low also nevermind, I just want to learn stuff, but a lot of companies these days doesn't want to train, before

applying job they already expect people to know what they are doing and have the skillset, so right now I'm doing part time and learning, but I don't know what skills

are necesarry for a job like this since this is pretty new in malaysia.

yeah so basically digital marketing is a broad field.

3 mains one are

SEM/Performance marketing ( Search engine marketing) - Basic skill needed Google ads, Fb ads, twitter ads, linked ads and other available marketing platform. Google & adobe analytic is required as well. For beginner you need to know Google ads and FB ads.

Social ( social campaign, page management ) - You need to be creative because you will handle social media campaign on Social platform. You also need to reply to comment and pm from followers and user

SEO ( Search engine optimisation) - Help ranked client website on top of Google search index. You need to do some keyword research and have basic knowledge in HTML

Google digital marketing course. Done it already. Just a simple online exam and get a digital cert.

Digital marketing in a sense is vague. You need to think what you want to in this industry as it relates to advertising. Example, social media brand management and communication. It’s not just FB reply comment and all but come up with the stats and data for analysis.

I started in digital marketing without any background too, so I get where you're coming from. What helped me the most was actually trying out small projects—like running FB ads for my cousin’s online shop and writing simple product descriptions. That hands-on thing taught me more than endless reading. Also, getting Google or Meta certifications definitely adds credibility, but practical experience, even if it's small scale, really matters.

If you're thinking of doing content as part of digital marketing, I’ve used content writing services before to help with projects I couldn’t handle alone. They've given me a better sense of what good writing should look like and even improved my SEO game.

Im currently a senior marketing specialist. I would say learn html, css and web development can have a huge advantages as it opens up more possibilities like email marketing and web design. If only social media marketing then actually everyone can do this job as you only need to have basic knowledge on how to handle ads and post stuff.

Learn more software and platform also helps like indesign, figma, Ps, davinci resolve, mailchimp, acoustic, Wordpress, elementor etc
