QUOTE(jameslsy @ Jul 15 2007, 10:02 PM) Whoever here uses Maxis service to play? My friend uses jaring wired. Good and STABLE connection - what an ISP should be providing anyway. If you can get Jaring broadband in your area, do so asap. Relieve yourself from the idiocy and national embarassment that is Streamyx.Wired or wireless... is it acceptable to play WoW? I'm tired of streamyx bullshit good ip. Wireless isn't recommended for anything except surfing and email. Why bother with an expensive subpar quality. TIME should not be thought of as wireless broadband. This post has been edited by Owen: Jul 16 2007, 08:35 AM |

i am using wired maxis broadband to play wow... no complaints so far... i usually get around 300-400... lowest was about 200+
and what i thought was maxisbb lagging is actually WoW problems ( the recent auth screen logon problems, some minor lags spikes) |

Saw the clause and turn me off straight away =/ well, i can tell you that i don't feel the caps bcos i don't bt anyways.. just surf, check emails, do work research and WoW... at flying, and i do mean flying speeds... but to be fair maxisbb has its down days too, just not as much as tmnet... and there are other factors in play as well, like server pop, the current wow gateway lagging issue etc etc. and line wise, could be different in your area as well. so there's still a risk factor in it. but seriously, i've never been happier to switch, heh... |

imho, if u dont bt but play wow and surf the net, then maxis 3g is a good option. it means your traffic will probably not get congested as compared to other isp which did not cap their bandwidth but choose to throttle your connection. but i have heard rumors that maxis 3g coverage is not as good as celcom 3g but when there is coverage, maxis 3g beats celcom in terms of speed. i have not experience using maxis 3g before but i have tried edge and celcom 3g. edge connection is really crappy while celcom 3g is playable at 700ms. during instance it goes up at 900ms but still manageable. however, i havent got any problem with my streamyx both at my home at pj and damansara and get constant 250-350ms. with the correct ip off course.

The speed was fairly the same with Streamyx when I went for the trial period...but the 3Gb cap turned me off...
IMO wired is still more reliable for commercial use unless you can really afford carrier-grade networks for home use >.>; |

well.. i'm using wired maxisbb... so no crazy spikes... and yea, if you're thinking about using maxisbb to play WoW, please get wired... i seriously wouldn't suggest any wireless to play a mmorpg...
