Finally my almost 3 year wait for the exit of this overpaid, overrated and past it flop is almost over. 8 more months to go. His contract extension is easily one of the worst if not THE worst bit of business in football history.

Still remember back in the day I was almost a one man army who was against the extension of this prima donna.

Will get my beers ready for when the day finally comes when he leaves the club.

Man I was lurking back then, else I would have joined you, his extension made me sick. He can't fit in today's game. The standard bearer for no 10s these days are Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva. Work rate to match their skills. Especially de Bruyne, slot him anyway across the midfield and he still performs.

Man things got pretty bad for like the next year or so that time, was hurled insults by his lifeless Ozidiots/Ozilites from this forum itself and each time he assisted, scored or had a half decent game I'd be tagged and ridiculed for criticizing his performances and wanting him to be sold. But eventually it got less and less and then, total peace, which coincided with his journey to rock bottom. laugh.gif

Yeap, football has evolved to a point where dinosaur number 10s like him are left behind. Agree, KDB and Silva are perfect examples of players who have adapted their game to fit the demands of being a modern day number 10 and are the current gold standards. What a pity, never doubted the talent and ability Ozil has, too bad he has got too big of an ego and chose to live off past glories and achievements. Could've been a club legend instead of a flop if he had put his head down and worked to adjust and adapt his game instead.

Either way this chapter looks to be done and dusted and we are just counting down to the day his contract expires.

Quite disappointed Aouar didn't materialize. Could potentially have been our very own KDB in the making. Hope Arteta goes back for him or goes for another player from a similar mould in future windows.

Foden is completely destroying Bellerin on our right. Our poor Spaniard dont even know where his man is half the time.

I really don't get this obsession of Auba on the left.

When the lineup was announced I initially though 2 natural wingers on either side and Auba down in the middle.

Cringed when turns out Willian was being played as a false 9 with Auba on the left.

Just stop this shit and play arguably one of the best natural goalscorers in the league back in his natural position. As great of a goalscorer Auba is he is no Henry.

Well done Arteta and the board. Shows no one is bigger than the club, no matter who you are.

Sometimes the right decision may not be the most popular decision.

I guess Ozil’s case is down to his comment on Uyhgurs in China which really crosses Kronke’s bottomline with regards to the commerciality of the club in China.

Arsene was literally sacked after the fans boycott our home matches impacting the ticket revenue back then.

Guess it’s all about business and money at the end of the club. I don’t think this has anything to do with Arteta one way or the other.

It's a combination of everything, from the comments on China, publicly going against the decisions of the club, the pay cut fiasco and his continued toxicity in the dressing room regarding the matter. It probably started with the comments on China and the whole pay cut issue was what broke the camel's back. The fact that he has been really poor on the pitch for a couple years now and then the Gunnersaurus PR stunt didn't help matters.

FYI after his comments on China Ozil continued to start 10 games that came after those comments and played close to 90 mins in almost all of them. If it was solely down to that he would've been dropped immediately or a few games in at most never mind 10, more than 3 months later.

Bellerin should have been red carded. Very very lucky.

Mustafi came on and defense turned to shit.

What a step back today is. We had so many chances but finishing today has been so poor.

It has been well documented that it was simply the player who rejected us and nothing else.

It is seriously not that hard to google before posting anything you aren't entirely sure of. rolleyes.gif

Gabriel and Partey, massive today. Hopefully the goals will flow for Auba again now that he has broken his duck.

Elneny has been a pleasant surprise. I have been one of his greatest critics in the past but boy has he put his head down and really worked his way back with gusto. Last night was one of his finest performance in an Arsenal shirt to date.

This is how you win the fans back, instead of playing the victim card on Twitter and try to turn the fans against the club like a cry baby tossing his toys out of the pram when things doesn't go his way. rolleyes.gif

The sight of Elneny taking turns with Partey surging forward and sitting back when the other goes forward was a sight to behold. A far cry from the backwards and sideways merchant he used to be.

Would definitely want to see more of this midfield partnership in matches to come. Either we have found a really effective midfield duo or Man U's midfield are just that shit.
