Looking at the gameplay style we adopting we better get in some strong lungs

But its a very positive feeling to see arsenal being structured for the first time defensively

Exactly what barca and mancity is doing, run the hell down your opposition.

Will need a lot of time to do this more efficiently.

Hopefully by the time we meet LIverpool we can perfected this. They are on 0 lost and possible beating our 49 games unbeaten legacy.

The new defense is attacking. Attacking is less fatigue than defending. Just see gegen pressing Liverpool they seldom tired because they are attack attack and attack

I think its more like tactical reason that arteta use nelson instead of pepe.

Nelson is classic winger that dribble down the wing and cross, while pepe is inverted winger that cut inside to shoot with stronger foot.

Against chelsea, he used nelson to exploit chelsea’s wingback when counter attack.
If play pepe, when he cut inside, he have to face 3 CBs in the crowded center area.

Nelson's crosses no good pun. I rather to see pepe cross than Nelson. Pepe's corner kick see how much he already assisted from corner

chelsea also started like this under lampard right??

with lampard's high press since the whistle blow..
they all out 1st half, 2nd half all pancit in the first few games under him..

but long term everyone's fitness adapt to it and performed better in 2nd half as well?

Arteta is a tactical genius.
The on-and-off the ball positioning is evident in his tactic.

He learnt from Wenger and Pep (who learnt from Johan Cruyff).

Really gooding the defend now. Just saw the whole match, we managed to contain them well, better than when we did against Chelsea where we leaked the last 10min.

Everyone played really well. Hopefully more of the same

The way arteta talk and work seems to have high intelligence, he could be better than Guardiola.

Have to give credit to the board that brave enough to give the job to zero experience arteta.

True, new coach has element of surprise.
After a while, other coaches will find a way to counter his tactics.

Toreirra role is very important,
while others disciplinely maintaining the compact defensive shape (making the opposition harder to play, also making no holes in defense),
he will be the one roaming in between the line, aggressively try to intercepts or wins the ball and making tackles.

Ozil, xhaka, luiz all become godlike under arteta. almost everyone level up. Only lacazette still struggling.

ozil - advanced playmaker
xhaka - deep lying playmaker
luiz - super deep lying playmaker
