Hi guys, a few days back I've read a topic about people wanting to be apart of a Malaysian coders place. I am a member of a few Malaysian Facebook coding group and I do believe that we can do better because these places seem to gravitate towards people posting about job applications rather than the coding itself. The groups/channels I'm making will specifically focus on technical coding based on the languages/categories. I have a friend in Singapore who is apart of such thing (Singaporean coders group) and I really wish to create a Malaysian version of it. It's in the works so just post here/PM me if you're interested to help out. Thanks!

There are indeed multiple such groups out there, each one dedicated to their own framework of choice. You can look them up on facebook, and try to see if they're interested or not.

Indeed. I'm trying to gather coders, specifically Malaysians, in one place. Thanks for the interests that you've sent. You guys can keep PMing me.

It is sad, both @pujan and @malleus are no longer active on Lowyat.NET forum.

I miss also @bumpo, a regular in Codemaster in the past.

And then we're happily discussing coding, meetup stuff on Telegram and Discord (Slack less so), and from *our* point of view, it's *you* who left.

*shrug*.

rust offline meetup 2023 is back, on febuary 8th next week, Marcus Lee will give a talk on The journey to Rust from a student hosted in pantas software in bangsar south, food will be provided so rsvp if going.
Latest discussion over on Telegram is about coroutines vs subroutines; python pyenv/pip; python flask reload on code change, etc.

Here "Codemaster" is so quiet, basically just angch, 15cm and flashang are active. Where's the rest?

No wonder new forum by pujan also closed down.

May be only junior in certain tech area will have a lot of questions and wish to have discussion.

For expert, they are able to find solution.

Further more, if you're in some projects,
NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) prevent you to share what you're doing.

We do share and discuss advanced topics, outside of projects. Just not here. Audience and expectations are different.

What do y'all wanna discuss about?

Discussion seeding: https://surveys.jetbrains.com/s3/developer-...-survey-2023-sh is a survey that's chock full of interesting software and alternatives. Do it, and get a chance to win a Macbook Pro or an RTX4090.

e.g. Clickhouse (OLAP) and Exasol (in-memory analytics) as databases.

Took too much time to do this survey, and no cookies for "continue" if accidentally closed.

Good luck in the lucky draw. MacBook Pro 16 is about 10K MYR, wah....

I wonder what they mean by prize draw from "meaningful answers" only? If I don't select JetBrain product(s) in the survey means I have less chance to meet their criteria? Hmm.....

I think some questions are designed to be correlated. So if the answers to some questions don't match, very likely you were just clicking through the survey.

Oh, I think there were only very few new posts in Codemasters since the last two months!

"i cannot tahan do freelancing anymore" by 15cm on 29 May

"Coding challenge" by codercoder on 9 May

"how to share my Python program with friend?" by adam_lew85 on 26 Apr

Other than that, is only regular like flashang who started new topic on 19 May and 3 Jun.

The rest are almost me myself do the talking (with multiple accounts)..... Should I keep posting in Codemaster and become centre of attention.... It is quite embarrassing....

most people may concern about quality post.
they try to post something worth to share or discuss.

if go for quantity, more various topic may attract discussion.

As more people calling shell copy and echo, less skill and knowledge is required.
It just how much you could squeeze the command. (e.g. echo 4 => ls 4)
Make the code non-human readable friendly, is very bad coding style.

Rely on system undocumented behavior (or using bugs),
can only work when patches is not update,
have no meaning for most development.

May be they should think some better contest next time.

This is a competition set up by security researchers, what do you expect? cry.gif

But my original reply is about survey prize winner, not BGGP4. Are you hoping to win Mac Book Pro? laugh.gif

For most people, preferred phone, Android if you use a lot of 3rd party apps.

Apple products may only for apple fans.

As for Amazon certificate / JetBrains Products Pack,
if you're currently using / looking for their products ...

I believe you also have received an email from JetBrain. I didn't win any prize, haha.

Hello,

Thank you for taking part in the Developer Ecosystem Survey 2023! Your input will help us and the community better understand the state of the Developer Ecosystem and improve our products and services.

We’ve already raffled off the prizes and are pleased to report that our 36 lucky prize winners come from 24 different countries. Unfortunately, this time luck wasn’t on your side and you weren’t selected by the random generator.

This year, 23,751 developers contributed to the survey and participated in the prize raffle.

We’ve already started analyzing the data, and the report with infographics and personalized results will be published in the fall.

Thank you again for your time, and good luck in the next raffle.

Stay tuned!

Same same.

Btw, didn't support (or use) JetBrain products before.

Most people may still stick with their familiar tools (and sell the prize if the don't use it).
