QUOTE CONFIRMED: UNITED SIGN BRUNO FERNANDES Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Clube de Portugal. Bruno signs on a five-and-a-half year contract, with an option to extend for a further year. The 25-year-old Portuguese international has contributed 63 goals and 52 assists in 137 appearances for Sporting Clube de Portugal. He has made 19 senior appearances for his country and was part of the successful squad that won the UEFA Nations League in 2019. Bruno Fernandes said: “My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club. For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies. I want to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me. It is surreal to hear the nice words that have been said about me from players that used to play for this team. A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can’t wait to start to repay that on the pitch.” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “We have been tracking Bruno for many months and everyone here has been tremendously impressed with all his attributes and what he will bring to this team. Most importantly he is a terrific human being with a great personality and his leadership qualities are clear for all to see. Bruno’s goals and assists stats speak for themselves, he will be a fantastic addition to our team and he will help us push on in the second part of the season. The winter break is coming at a perfect time for us to integrate Bruno into the squad and for him to get to know his team-mates.” https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-u...s-from-sporting |

QUOTE(ljf123 @ Jan 31 2020, 02:31 PM) With the closing of transfer windows looming, I really doubt we can rush any kind of deal unless its a loan deal or some free agent which we never heard of.No club will want to lose a striker now without proper replacement except for us |

QUOTE Ole Gunnar Solskjaer "doesn't think" Manchester United will sign more players before the transfer window closes despite Bournemouth confirming their interest in striker Joshua King. Speaking on Friday, Cherries boss Howe said of King: "I am reluctant to let him leave. It's going to be a decision between the chief executive and owner." United manager Solskjaer later said: "I don't think we'll do any more business. January has always been difficult. It's not something you do just like that. I am happy with the ones I have here." Solskjaer has previously said that Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo would not be leaving Old Trafford this month but Young has moved to Inter Milan, while Rojo has gone on loan to former club Estudiantes in his native Argentina. Asked about King's link with United and whether the 28-year-old could move before Friday's 23:00 GMT deadline, Howe said: "I am not going to deny anything you have read. "He is much valued and loved by us. He is a massive part of our team, he brings that unique pace and strength, coupled with technical ability and an eye for goal. "We have missed him since he has been out injured. With a day to go in the window it's very difficult to find a replacement. "I love Josh as a player and person. I know what Manchester United means to him with his history with the club, so I understand his position." If a deal were to go through it would see the Norway forward join United for second time. He originally moved to Old Trafford in 2009 as a 16-year-old and departed for Blackburn in 2013, after making just two senior appearances. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51325071 |

Another transfer done!
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Manchester United’s new signing Bruno Fernandes will be part of the matchday squad against Wolves on Saturday, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Whether that involvement sees the Portuguese midfielder, who completed his transfer from Sporting Clube de Portugal on Thursday afternoon, feature from the start, or off the bench, remains to be seen. “He's fit enough to play and he'll be involved definitely,” Ole told reporters at the Aon Training Complex. “He'll be in the squad. Let's get the training out of the way today. “He's had of course a few hectic days now and even with his little daughter's three-year birthday yesterday, so I don't know how much he will be involved, but he's in the squad.” Nemanja Matic will definitely sit out Saturday’s match, after picking up an automatic one-match suspension. The Serbian midfielder was shown two yellow cards during Wednesday’s 1-0 Manchester derby victory at the Etihad. “He played so well, he’s played really well lately so that’s a big blow for us so we’ll have to find a way to replace him,” added Solskjaer. Another player who won’t feature tomorrow is Marcos Rojo, who has returned to Argentina until the end of the season. The defender has signed for Estudiantes, who have former United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron as chairman, on a six-month loan. “Marcos is passionate, he needed to play more,“ Solskjaer told MUTV. ”He’s hoping to get in the Copa America of course and for us to give him that chance, Estudiantes is of course his home. “Juan Seba Veron will look after him and I’m sure we’ll get Marcos back in better condition than he’s been.” Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe remain on the sidelines for the Reds, with Ole having previously confirmed the trio will return after the winter break. Marcus Rashford is also unavailable, after suffering a back injury against Wolves at Old Trafford just over a fortnight ago. Ole also revealed that Angel Gomes and James Garner will play for United Under-23s, against Norwich City at Carrow Road tonight. “Angel and Jimmy Garner will be involved, they need games,“ the boss confirmed to MUTV. “It’s a good game down at Carrow Road. It’s a long travel, but it’s worth it if they play well.” https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-u...1-february-2020 Bruno's full interview: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed midfielder James Garner will not leave Manchester United on loan during the current transfer window. The deadline for clubs to complete any deals is 23:00 GMT tonight (Friday) and, speaking on Friday morning, the boss confirmed he has no plans to allow Garner to leave United on loan. “James is going to stay here,” Ole responded, when quizzed about the youngster’s future in his pre-match press conference, ahead of the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend. “We're going to give him a chance here to keep improving. He's had a bit of a difficult time lately, but he'll be fine.” Speaking separately to club media, Ole also confirmed Garner will feature in Friday’s Under-23 fixture against Norwich City, which is live on MUTV from 19:00 GMT. James, who came through our Academy set up, made his first-team debut last season in a 3-1 away win at Crystal Palace and has gone on to make six senior appearances this campaign. The 18-year-old started three of our six Europa League group games, as we qualified for the last 32 of the competition with two matches to spare. James has also enjoyed a stellar season for our Under-23s and has scored six goals from eight Premier League 2 appearances, while playing in a holding midfield position. Neil Wood's side are currently second in the table, two points behind leaders West Ham United with both sides having seven fixtures left to fulfil. https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/solsk...er-james-garner This post has been edited by alien2003: Jan 31 2020, 10:00 PM |

QUOTE Posted at 4:40 Ighalo talks ongoing CONFIRMED: Manchester United are in talks to sign Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua. One complication is that the Nigerian is currently in China, not in the UK as some reports suggest. QUOTE Posted at 4:44 'Why are Man Utd going for Ighalo? I don't understand it' Kevin Nolan Former West Ham captain on BBC Radio 5 Live Why haven't they gone and got someone like Edinson Cavani? He didn't want to stay [at PSG] until the end of the summer. QUOTE(Wan @ Feb 1 2020, 12:39 PM) Ighalo only 30. Knows the league. Had a very good first season in the EPL. Was AFCON(and the qualifiers) top scorer last year. Not bad la for a short term backup. If he does well, I have no problem if we decide to make it permanent. But if Martial continue to blow hot and cold, hopefully we have a much better option in mind. No option to buy. Clearly that we only see him as a stop gap solution till we try on our primary target(s) in the summer.QUOTE The deal to bring the 30-year-old Nigeria international to Old Trafford contains no option to buy. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51335993 This post has been edited by alien2003: Feb 1 2020, 01:59 PM |

QUOTE Odion Ighalo says he was so desperate to join Manchester United he took a pay cut to make the deal happen and did not sleep the night it was agreed. The 30-year-old Nigeria forward has joined United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season. The ex-Watford player says his mum cried at the news and there were parties on the street where he grew up. "A few other clubs had shown interest, I said: 'Please, just pick United, if it's going to be possible,'" he said. Speaking to the club website, he added: "At 11pm in Shanghai, my agent called me [to say] that United want to do the deal, so I woke up that night and started looking for a translator to go to the directors' room and hit his door. "'My agent wants to speak to you. United are coming for me, you have to make this happen.'" Ighalo, his agent and the clubs spent the night negotiating and signing paperwork to get it through before the deadline at 7am Shanghai time. Meanwhile, other clubs were calling asking Ighalo to sign for them. "I told my agent 'this is what I want. I want to come here'," added Ighalo. "He said: 'You're going to get a pay cut to go to United.' "I said: 'I don't care. Make this deal happen. I want to go to United. I don't care how much is the pay cut, I know that, make it happen.'" Ighalo says he has been a United fan since he was a child and is pleased to be able to make the his dream of playing for the Old Trafford club a reality. "I called my mum and she was happy, crying," he said. "I know many people used to say when they join a team, they say that they dream of playing for that team. Mine was not the case. I supported the team when I was young. "People that know me, even back in Nigeria, and even when I was playing at Watford, my team-mates knew that I loved Manchester United, I support them." With Marcus Rashford recovering from a stress fracture and Anthony Martial having scored once in his past five Premier League games, Ighalo hopes his physicality can aid the United forward line. "I'm very fast, I'm skillful, I'm strong, I have good techniques, so I can find my way in the field of play," he said. "They have a striker that stays mostly in the middle, but Martial likes to come from the side, even Rashford, so you need someone in the middle that can keep the ball, hold the ball. "They need a physicality up front to keep the ball, to give and to make some movement, which I believe if everything goes well I can add to the team." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51383589 This post has been edited by alien2003: Feb 5 2020, 10:40 PM |

QUOTE(damnself @ Feb 13 2020, 11:19 AM) Mmg panic signing betullah. Sign ighalo for 6 months now takut sebab corona. If you takut don't sign awal2lah. What the fish is this. https://global.espn.com/football/manchester...s-fears-sources Manchester United tell Odion Ighalo to stay away from Carrington over coronavirus fears - sources QUOTE Manchester United's new signing Odion Ighalo is training away from the club this week as a precautionary measure following his arrival from China. United have decided on the policy because of the risk - albeit extremely slight - posed by coronavirus. They decided against taking the striker on their winter break training camp in Spain because of concerns he may have difficulty getting back into the UK. Ighalo, 30, is expected to travel with the squad for Monday's game at Chelsea. BBC Sport understands Ighalo has been training with support from the club using a personalised fitness programme to get him ready for the Chelsea Premier League game. This has been done at the National Taekwondo Centre, close to the Etihad Stadium and where he has been staying since his arrival in England 11 days ago. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51487261 |

QUOTE(even_steven @ Feb 21 2020, 01:09 AM) QUOTE Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to BT Sport about Odion Ighalo: "He has not trained too many days with us and it is a few months since his last competitive game. We are still waiting, working on sharpness and hopefully he can get on towards the end of the game." On today's team selection: "We have so many games coming up. We have given Diogo Dalot a chance on the right side. Victor Lindelof is fit again, Eric Bailly got a knock against Chelsea so could not play a full game today. "It is important. You have two games now to go through and if you can get a good result here it is fantastic for us. They are a big team and dangerous from set plays.
