Hi All,

im planing going iceland during winter.

i'm already have canon eos m camera.

due to im not good in setting always talking not so good picture , most of the time im using handphone to take picture although camera with me.



so should i get action camera like go pro or dji drone ?

please advice.

If u not good with typical camera pretty sure u won't handle drone well. Better just go pro.

Also if u going Iceland, don't think the drone will handle the cold.

thank for reply , i just wonder that will action camera = camera with auto setting ? since camera can snap photo and take video.

Never use gopro, tbh. But pretty sure it comes with auto since no one going to worry too much when doing "action".

But i think general camera will do just fine not sure why u need gopro unless u planning to do action scene. Gopro is mainly video also, not primary for taking photos.

Only I thing I worry is the battery since cold weather will deplete it faster. So bring/buy more spare batteries.

I read that drones are banned in many places in Iceland.

Why not go for 360 camera
insta 360 one x.

you will get a wider fisheye angle of view.
you can put in on the pole stick get angles of drone like.

Not sure about Iceland, but most European countries require a license to fly a drone.

if waterproof is optional, maybe can consider osmo pocket...

Drone can be a hassle. I have a GoPro but barely used and i find insta360 is more fun as action cam if u ain't doing extreme or action sport. It has great software as well. However, my iPhone 11 pro with wide angle get most of the calls, despite having mirrorless with top of the line wide angles.

Action cam is more versatile for most activities, where you just put it on the appropriate adapter and film whatever activities you're doing.

Drone is more fun in you can get a wider view of things by going up, or far, but limited that you can't be doing your activity while filming.

I'd say, if you're looking for an all rounder cam, an action cam would work better for your traveling.

DJI Drone. Make sure you charge before fly. Cold weather will increase battery internal resistance. Charge in car right before fly.

Or rather, do you want need DSLR / Mirroless (you have the M right?) May be just the action cams which provide wider angles options that's more suitable for places like Iceland will do just fine. Travel light! and enjoy the trip! Forget the drones and big camera, just phones and action cam.

Also, With Insta360 R modular system just announced, i think it's a far better choice than GoPro. You get optional superior 1-inch sensor from Leica if you like to go all out.

New Insta360 R is not bad.
You can still go for cheaper brand action cam to get good shots.
Drone is prohibited in many locations. You can buy long mini extendable monopod to get "drone" shot.

i see mostly comment go for insta 360 , im prefer a clear picture > 360 degree fuction.

i go check with insta360, it got alot type.
but i can't the compare , got insta 360 one , one x , one R twin eddtion , one R 1inch edition , really not sure the difference.


is that ok during night , since im don't have friend around having action camera , and my world only know is gopro.
so during the trip, im no need bring my mirroless camera there ?
