Hi Folks. New to the cycling scene in Malaysia. Started with a foldie and now looking at a road bike.

Does anyone have a good carrying solution for a 2-3 bike carrier for Perodua Aruz?

If you know of a shop that might have a solution, it's good too. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip. Just WA'd them and see how they can help. Saw some rear carriers for 3 bikes but not pinning any hopes yet.

If I can't find a good carrying solution, I am stuck to foldies until I can sad.gif

And yes...roof carriers are expensive indeed!

2-3 bikes? Rear rack can fit 2 bikes the most and top rack can fit another 2 but installing those would be costly

And they do install it for you

Installation of roof-rack / bike carrier

- The roof should be installed securely on the vehicle.

- Height measurement of high roof installation must not exceed 230 mm from the rooftop level and width as well as length should not exceed roof area.

- Any vehicle is not allowed to carry load that protrudes more than the back, front or side of the vehicle body.

- Bike measurement on the roof of the vehicle must not be more than the front, back and side of the roof and need to be bound properly and securely as not to endanger other road users.

- Installation of bike carrier on the back of the vehicle is not permitted.

Wow! Good info. Thanks for schooling this noob on the subject.

So it's pretty clear for me. Foldies or roof rails!

Also...if anyone has good tips on getting your better half addicted to this drug, tips welcomed!

Anyone have had any experience with this bike from Decathlon? https://www.decathlon.my/p/8409994_ultra-50...-sora-disc.html

Currently looking to pick up another bike and it's a toss-up between that or this. https://www.decathlon.my/p/8542655_rc-520-d...e-navy-105.html

Maybe even this one. https://www.decathlon.my/p/8542636_rc-500-d...uoise-sora.html

Any feedback or advice is appreciated.

U get first then we talk la
No experience but I’d lean towards the one that comes with Shimano 105 mainly for the 11 speed.

That said the cheapest among the 3 that comes with Shimano Sora is not too bad.

11 speed gives you wider range should you struggle to find lighter gears up certain climbs but for new riders, the willingness to shift is also part of the learning curve so the 11 speed might not be useful for you at the early stage.

However it is a lot more flexible if you have it and if you can afford it, go for the 11 speed.

Your thoughts are pretty much right on the money. I was just about to go for the RC520 when they are back in stock later this month.

What caught my attention on this Ultra 500 AFGF is the UCI frame (honestly though...not much use/benefit for me tongue.gif ), 12mm thru axles, and "Made in Flanders", and is lighter.

Yes, 105 vs Sora is definitely a point worth thinking about. Price wise, the RC520 and Ultra 500 are the same.

I already have a TCR Adv. The thought to pick this up came about when I wanted another bike; which is more relaxed and I can thrash around everyday. My first thought was RC500 with Sora. Since that is sold out...my eyes are now on RC520 OR the Ultra 500.

My long term goal is to see if I go broke by this hobby first or my wife murders me first blink.gif

I'm curious. When you say "multiple" we talking about 2-4 or like... A dozen?
